I think I will miss not seeing Larry and Moe on Tech's sidelines with Curley....
Watched Tech gut out two wins this week. Was surprised on both especially with Virginia. Guess they have some 'character' also. Not impressed watching their level of play but they really dug deep and won both games. They had a big week. Hopefully we can play tougher than they do and stop giving up leads or going 16 for 30 at the foul line.
Buzz Williams has always been a sweaty granstander IMO. He's wicked annoying.
I think we beat them by 15. We should dominate them on the boards. They've gotten blown out by the more athletic teams on their schedule. They we're fortunate to catch Duke and UVA when they did.
As always in this conference, it's another tough game. They grew up a lot last week by winning two tough games including beating their instate rival Virginia.
If the Cards play the level of defense they're capable of playing, they'll win by double figures. If the Cardinals just play without digging in, it'll be a close game and possible loss. Control the glass. Pound the ball inside and let the wing shooters shoot when open. Got to hit the freethrows too.

Pretty much agree with this. I think we win by 20 or more. I think now that Snider has gotten back on his feet and Mango and Adel are back, we will start killing teams like VT again. Now UNC next week - THAT will be an interesting game.
That means they'll have the 'next man up' mentality, and everyone will try to do more. Sometimes that works by adding with subtraction. I hate hearing about a player blowing out an ACL but the good news is surgical advancements make it more possible for him to recover 100% compared to when I played 35 years ago. I hope he makes a full recovery.
Buzz spoke highly of UofL on air when he worked for CBS during March Madness a few years ago when the team reached the FF. He spoke to how much he respected the program, Pitino, and the players on the team. So I'll always like the guy.

VT views VA as a rivalry, just like Nc State views Duke as a rival. Its no suprise the Hokies got up for VA and won. Same with NC State. They went back to SuCkng after winning in Cameron.
A little nervous about this one. Gotta crash the boards hard and not start out sluggish. Keep the ball movement alive and not play hero ball at crucial points in the game, and after making a shot gtfb on defense (looking at you King). I think if we shoot our average, and remain consistent on defense, we win this one by 8-12 points. I expect Q, Donovan, and Adel to go off. Hopefully Ray keeps his head up and fights hard on defense like he did last game. We need all of our bigs to clog the lane and swat shots, and not lose their man on screens ( looking at you Anas). Go Cards.
With VJ King out, we might see Jay Henderson unless Levitch will backup Adel too?

King being out tomorrow mostly means that they are babying it so he's perfectly ready for UNC game. He could probably play with a bruise and I say if it were a bigger game he would be playing. Hope all is well and we get fully healthy soon though!

Looking at this game I see a couple of things. First very tough to win road games in the is league. Second VT lost arguably their best player for the season in the win at home against VA. That's two strikes against VT before they get off the bus. VT is a good team, VT is a tournament team. They are slightly above .500 in ACC play, a mid pack team in our league. These type teams are dangerous if you don't bring your A game. I always thought Buzz Williams was a pretty good Coach. Liked what he did at Marquette, and he has put VT back on the map. All that being said the Cards have really not played very well the last two games, but still found a way to win. That does no bode well for a VT team going on the road to play a UL team that is playing for a #1 seed in both the ACC tourney, and the NCAA tourney. VT will play hard, but just too much to ask them to come into UL and win. Cards will bring their A game for a tough opponent, and carry the day with a very good win. Make it UL 80 VT 67!!
As others have said, if UofL doesn't bring it then VT definitely has a chance. There are very few if any "off" nights in the ACC. You have to be focused because most of these teams can play and many are capable of upsets including VT who have knocked off some impressive big names.
Considering the reset that the suspensions brought and the 2 ensuing feel good wins that followed,these guys are zeroed in.

I think we'll use quite a bit of 3 guard lineups. Maybe move Mitchell to the 3 and insert Levitch and McMahon to play a lot of minutes.
He is talking about the two guys out and then the 2 self-imposed scholarship reductions.
Could he be referring to the 2 scholarships that they penalized themselves for from the scandal? I didnt think that was this year though. Maybe he just accidentally said 4 since last week at UVA we were down 4 players.
I remember him saying 4 last week, which were 4 players, so I figured he would have said 6 at that point with the 2 self-imposed, or did he?

I agree with your observations of Coach Williams. I'm glad he was able to make the jump to the ACC.
