Louisville
For Year Ended June 30, 2020.

New USA Today College Athletics Revenue/Expenses numbers released by USA Today 10/13/2021:

Louisville was #16 in Revenue @ $141M. Also #1 in ACC.

The information is data obtained for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Private universities are not shown.

No data for ACC schools BC, Syracuse, Duke, WF, Pitt, or Miami. Pitt is not private, so it must have a state exemption that allows it not to report this data.

Oregon #1 thanks to a $270 million donation for a renovation to its track and field facility. Wow!

One would expect Nike to make a huge donation to a T&F facility.

Pitt has now become a "state-related" school. Weird.

While browsing around this morning, there was some stories on colleges that shared some of their tax payer covid relief funds with their athletic depts. Which got me thinking and wondering about some things?????

Quite interesting U of L from this data is the only school in the conf that's reported turning a profit.

But UofL did take a little under $6million in school subsidies to turn a profit of about $3million.

Also, expenses were less than expected for the school year (2019-2020) due to the cancelled NCAA tournaments for winter and sprint sports. Teams stayed home instead of traveling.

You can expect to see the biggest impact from COVID beginning in 2020-2021. Greatly reduced ticket revenue for 2020 football, 2020-21 basketball. And shares of NCAA basketball revenue will be reduced for each of the next six years due to the cancelled 2020 men’s tournament and the reduced revenues from the scaled back men’s 2021 tourney.

20-21 is going to be a wash for every school for the most part.

What i find funny is how we are called the little brother in the state. And looking at that those numbers so called big brother with all the inherited advantages (Main State School, SEC revenue ) they have over us. Are not heads and shoulders a run away wells fargo truck ahead. That's why i truly believe those in Frankfort tried and are still attempting to destroy us from within. If we are were we are at this point financially just imagine if we can get our crap together again . Out of this constant black cloud storm.

In some ways yes, but UofL generates huge revenues from its basketball home attendance - more than any other school. UofL will be hit harder than just about anybody because of that loss.

This is definitely true. I’ve often said that UK wasn’t worried while we were in CUSA, Big East, and AAC. The “kid gloves” came off when we joined the ACC.

How have we been destroyed though?

Yes, the board decisions were weird and moronic, but the most POWERFUL MAN in Kentucky is Mitch McConnell by far and Mitch is a UofL guy. (please nothing about his politics) I would think that if there was a diabolic scheme to take down our university from the state legislature it would be known.

Like in all honesty, did the state force Vince Tyra(whose dad is UofL through and through and his entourage is UofL) to become AD so that they could hire Chris Mack and Scott Satterfield? Was the Katina story hatched by Greg Stumbo 10 years ago? Did Andy Beshear tip off the FBI about our moron assistant and recruit and that whole FBI investigation was a cover to take down UofL??

I mean the basketball stuff was clear. Tom Jurich gave Pitino another chance after the first scandal. During scandal #2 we had to fire Rick. Regardless if Tom was here or not, we would've probably hired Chris Mack. Bobby Petrino flat out quit, that's why our football is down and had nothing to do with UK plants and moles.

I do think there's a UK bias in our state, but goodness I hate this conspiracy theory BS. Our athletics haven't collapsed, Pitino was over 2 scandals and had to go. Petrino quit. All the other sports have been the same and Tyra hasn't messed with much. There's just 0 logic to this stuff.

Ramsey’s firing is the only questionable decision in my opinion. Jurich cost himself his job when he chose to back Pitino after the first scandal and then had it blow up in his face when the FBI recordings were revealed.

It’s not clear to me that Ramsey had to go, and the settlement tends to bear out the fact that he was pushed out without cause. Whether that rises to the level of a conspiracy or not is open for debate. But there’s very little doubt that a UofL with Ramsey still in charge is more of a threat to UK than the one we have now.

Ramsey had to go first. RP sent a dumba$$ asst to LV. Then the stars aligned. Just last night while eating, I was staring at a mural of RP & Ali and reminiscing about the great times. I was a huge Ali fan in the 70’s and remember all those fun times.
