Not sure I understand the comment/question.

No doubt, it's a nice headline. But less than $400,000 annually to a $100 million athletic department ain't moving the needle very far. To put that amount in perspective, it's about 2X what U of L collects annually for basketball game PARKING revenue ($210,000).

And this money has already been earmarked for something besides existing costs and initiatives. In the end, it's new money to pay for new expenses.

Other than the intangible benefit that athletics experiences and for people to feel good about something, I fail to see what it accomplishes...

Darn was hoping it was good news, but knew it could be inconsequential too.

First he had to be revived at the fact that Cardinals revenue are heading back up.

Second, he"s already twisted more than a Kansas tornado on the football board on the same topic.

Tyra getting the job done !

Since we lost so many private donors we need to look to corporate donations. It's a start but I agree with Zipp still 100's of millions short.

UofL had $122 million in revenues in FY17 (the last data that has been filed at the equity in athletics website). For the second largest athletic department in the ACC, ”losing” $17 million in one year is painful, but not catastrophic.

No, it's just record breaking--by miles...

Assumption on your part, because neither of us have access to the year-by-year athletic department revenue and expense numbers from the late 1990’s. In one year (1997), men’s basketball lost 20 games and football lost 10.

Sure, let me put together some arbitrary numbers in a pie graph or bar chart via Excel.
Speaking of arbitrary, make sure you link your sources. I'll add links to mine if you want them...

You big silly goof, you! Add some powerpoints while you’re at it, I’m sure they’re not biased..

Nope, just someone who knows more about major college athletics than you do, and knows Vince Tyra is completely in over his head and is wholly unqualified for the job he currently holds.

JP

Tyra has the job for a reason.
Because idiot Jurich failed at doing his job.
The AD job consists of more than raising gobs of money and schmoozing.

The fact that UofL settled with Jurich doesnt negate his failures with the two former coaches, 1 in b-ball. The other in football.
His failures to discipline and reward of a mega buyout set both programs back.

Who'd ever thought the football program would sink below the cayuts.

Back to your regularly scheduled worship.
Im sure the 'Capo' will be along shortly to pump up the failed Jurich.........

LOL, if you say so.

Hopefully the "successful businessman's" plan to maintain and grow an elite athletic program on the cheap will work out for us.

There's no question that "Vince" didn't have legit AD qualifications. Many acknowledged that who supported his appointment to the job. And I've asked on various occasions what other school was considering "Vince" for an AD job. The reason he got it was mostly due to Gruesome and Postel, two ringing endorsements.

But he's in the job, and at this point, all you can do is objectively evaluate the job he's doing. Our finances are bad and getting worse, and I see very little evidence that fans and donors are returning in sufficient numbers. Thus far, he's proving to be a fanboy--which has nothing to do with job requirements--and little else...

LOL at the deflections. What do we talk about next, avatars?

While waiting for an answer, I'll reflect on actual fund raisers...

I just see a crook on the left. You like worshipping false idols though, I mean your avatar says a lot.
