WF seems experienced and sound. Saw bits of them they look like a polished team. May not have the high end athletes all over the field but pretty impressive looking squad.

Tough game for Cards. Banged up. Still young. Etc.

Wake has 43 players who have at least three years of college football experience. UofL has 35, so we’re getting there - but Wake definitely has the edge in experience. Should be a great matchup. Hopefully we play a great game for the full 60 minutes, because unlike FSU, Wake won’t beat themselves.

Wake is a team that's not going to beat itself, unless they get into some desperate situations. So far, they have surprised teams with very efficient, effective starts. They haven't faced much diversity yet.

If Louisville can run the offense like they did against UCF and the 1st half against FSU, they could put pressure on the Demon Deacons and see just how good they really are.

My early prediction.

Louisville 27
Wake Forest 24

Wake is fundamentally solid, as is BC. The final score may not indicate this observation, but the Eagles offensive line dominated Missouri for all 4 quarters. The one weakness that BC has, questionable secondary, played right into the one strength of Missouri ….. explosive deep passing routes.

WF‘s lopsided win over FSU is a little misleading; the 6 FSU turnovers had a huge impact in that game. One FSU fumble in the end zone in the early portion of the game was an example of just how damaging those mistakes cost the Seminoles. 3 INTs and 3 loss fumbles by FSU make it impossible to make a responsible comparison of the two teams.

Also WF was at home vs FSU so it’s not a exact comparison to our game vs FSU. Unfortunately we’re playing WF at home a tough task this year. If we play like the first half for the entire game will give them a game. We play like the second half for any length of time it will be a long day.

I can't really say as I didn't think Wake would be this good. This is a barometer game for the season. Win and we carry this on the next few weeks. Lose and we're not as hype to finish the year.

Just like 2019, 1-2 fun wins can turn into a fun season if the guys believe. This is a young group and the UCF game got our spirits in the right spot. FSU sustained a solid streak. Wake shows where we stand. Play tough against a good team and we'll keep it going, get beat bad and it could hurt the young guys.

Biggest plus is Malik is a senior QB and he's done this before. He won't be rattled, but can our defense hold up with the depth and injury issues? I think teams may see we're beat up and try to get physical, so we need to be ready to go.

Wake has talent and experience they did this year what Miami did last year. They went out and got transfers from Michigan, Stanford and Georgia to enhance and already experienced lineup. This will be our toughest game so far and I hope the coaching is up to the task. We need to start making adjustments in the 2nd half instead of trying things that don’t work.

I agree but I think this one is tricky.

WF is 4-0 with wins over teams with a combined 5-11 record.

a 1-3 Old Dominion ( win over Hampton)
a 2-2 Norfolk St (W’s Elizabeth City State? & St Francis)
a 0-4 FSU and got 6 TOs
a 2-2 UVA who beat William & Mary and a 1 win Illinois

Our opponents are 8-7 with one loss to #12 and a win over what was #28(?)

They haven’t played near our SOS but have looked good against who they have played.

We need to hit them early and knock some confidence out of them.

Make them realize they haven’t played anybody with our talent.

They may beat us senseless, but nothing says they’re that much better than last year when we rolled them, and we are improving every game.

Like I said it’s a tricky call, but if we play UCF/1st half FSU ball we win.

I think this will be a barnburner of a game. But I think we have the advantage with CSS at the helm but WF is well coached as well. Of course, WF being at home is a real advantage for them. I have some major concerns about our injury list and hope there are some young kids that are willing and capable of stepping up to help our cause.

GO CARDS!!!

2-0 in the ACC is 2-0 in the ACC. That's 2 wins over Power 5 teams. And they've cruised to those wins. They pass the eye test forsure.

Wouldn't it be fair to say that WF caused those turnovers?

Yes, the pass the eye test. But they're standing pretty close to the chart. ;)

Yes they've beaten 2 P5 schools. I have some time to kill, so...

According to Sagarin, UVA has 13 G5 schools ranked higher and their only P5 win was Illinois who has 38 G5's ahead of them.

FSU has 26 G5's ranked higher now.

Our SOS ranking through four games (according to the attached link) is #41
WF SOS so far is # 113

Ironically, their future SOS starting with us is #41 and we're #35. So our schedule gets some tougher while theirs gets a bunch tougher.

I know none of us know anything and we're just arguing football, and if they beat us, I'll give them and you credit. But if we play the way we've been playing, and don't get complacent, we win.

If they win, I'll tip my hat and say good luck.

My thought is just that we're running down a UVA program that has been very solid and always gives us trouble. Not easy to beat them like WF did, I have high respect for what Bronco has going at UVA.

SpotHog: yes, WF deserves credit and I do not take anything away from their performance, but from the replays that I saw, it sure looked like all 3 interceptions and two of the 3 fumbles appeared to be a lot more about FSU carelessness than WF creating the TOs.

UVA is another well-coached football team and WF win is a credit to the Deacons. Most will concede that UL’s win over UCF was more impressive.

Just saying, FSU has as much talent on their roster as anyone in the ACC: granted it how you execute that counts and clearly they are under-performing. They played up to their talent in the 2nd half against us.

Virginia looked to me like they weren't prepared to be challenged. They were home favorites and weren't ready to play.

WF has a rather large chip and they're a older group so they were ready to show what they can do. Before Virginia knew it, WF had already took control of the game. Virginia was one dimensional rest of the way. Which has been the case with them all season.

Louisville can run the ball but only if Malik's successful throwing the ball. Cards have a advantage with the passing game even without Smith. Satterfield has to be aggressive and creative to win this game.
