I know you are caught up in the game and all, but surely you have some since of what is going on in the game. If we didn't foul there, even if he hit it...the time the ball is in the air...the game would have been over.

3 hours later and I am still in shock and full of disappointment.

Darius always plays too aggressive on D. You have to play with controlled aggression. He’s missing the controlled part.

Signed... Francisco Garcia vs Memphis and Darius Washington 2005, Signed.... Ellis Myles vs UK and dancing Patrick Sparks 2004, to cap off blowing a 16 Point lead.

It definitely gave UVA hope along with a bunch of other things that transpired. Sucks

Whether Perry did or didn't foul, you never put yourself in that position to where it could be misconstrued as a foul. Perry should have backed well off and just let him shoot it.

If'fn we are playing the shoulda, coulda, woulda game.....a timeout shoulda been called to tell him and the whole team what they shoulda done or not done in this case.

But that didn't happen....hence, Murphy's Law reared its ugly head.....and UVA was struck with divine luck. And at .9 a timeout shoulda been called to tell Deng or another what to do. It wasn't.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda....and all in all it made for a historical way to lose one for the ages and the sages of BB will be talking about this one for a long time.:(

I strongly despise ESPN and UVA equally.

For the record, the Perry foul was bad, but there Refs were missing calls all night, so Perry should have known better. However, the blame should go squarely on Ding sling Adele foe moving on the inbound laser, when the Ref instructed him not to and has played enough not to...turns the ball over to UVA. He sealed his fate by falling asleep defensively and allowed the three pointer to occur. Adele thinks he is going my ass. He needs to back to land down under and go away.

I thought Perry clearly fouled him. I was like why I the f$&@ is he guarding this guy so close? Then the whistle.

Correct. I don't think he touched him yet he lunged at him giving the referee an option. Just one of a series of stupid things we did that cost us a sure win against a good team.

Telling all 5 players to go to mid-court, sit, and sing "Whoomp! There It Is!" would have been a brilliant move compared to what happened. If David WANTED to lose this game with 0.9 seconds left, it would have been near impossible. Yet it happened.

I've said this before - I would not blame David even if we went 0-31 this year. This season just is what it is. Let's hope for a solid last stand at NCST and in the ACCT and still sneak in. It will take a lot of heart, if they do this, I will be very impressed with the team and staff.

Don't see it happening. Losing like that has crushed my spirit and I'm not playing. I don't know how the kids will ever be able to bounce back from it. I just cannot see it happening. I soooo want to be wrong.

We will play our asses off only to lose on a half court shot...or we will be up 3 and foul the 3 point shooter leading to a 4 point play with 0.5 to go...or our game winning bucket will be blocked in a missed goal tending non call.

It doesn't seem to matter. It just isn't working out for this team. Think about it. Only twice all year did we actually win the game against a good team at crunch time. Florida State and Virginia Tech.

It's just not in the Cards this season.

Gotta question this.....does it speak to how bad those 2 teams are.....are how badly coached they must be?

Would love to see the Cards get on a roll to end the year.....just have a hard time seeing much positive about this team or this year. Would pray for them but even that would be a stretch.

For whatever reason are players get nervous at crunch time. It happened all season. The Purdue game The Seton Hall game we're just the beginning. Last night's loss was just more of the same.

One of the worst coaching jobs...or lack thereof..I have ever seen at the end of a game. Hell, it was Pitino-esque.

BS! Total BS! You must not watch many games. The players lost the game just like Virginia's players won the game. Bennett didn't coach that lucky break on the lane violation or the lucky game winner that was supposed to go to a different player.

Padgett could of called timeout only to see Adel not get the ball in within 5 seconds. Perry and Adel made the mistakes, not Padgett.

Padgett prepared the team for Virginia and had them in great position to win the game. They pissed it away.

At some point players have to accept some responsibility for a loss like this. I mean 19 & 20 year old D-1 players. And you foul a 3 point shooter when you've got a 4 point lead. A coach can't hold the players hand 24 hours a day. You wouldn't think a coach would have to tell a player not to foul in a situation like this.

Fans these days only want to blame coaches when it's the players that lose the games. Now Padgett has a lot still to learn but like you said, he can't hold their hands on the court.

As for Perry's foul, 90 percent of the time it would not have been called. He wasn't trying to block the shot, he was wanting to get a hand up in his face. Maybe a more experienced player would have done nothing knowing he didn't need to do that up four points.

Padgett vs. Boheim = no contest. Padgett vs. Coach K = no contest. Padgett vs. Ol' Roy = no contest. Padgett vs. Tony Bennett = no contest. Comprende ?

But, Bob (Let the Cake bake) Valvano, Tim Sullivan, Fred Cowgill and Tim Brando said he’s the second coming of John Wooden!
