'13 was my fav with the exception of Kevin Ware's injury. A memory forever planted in me.
Kerry, we followed them in’13 to Lex, Indy and then I shut the wallet for Atlanta? I still kick myself for that decision.
Atlanta, imo, is a terrible city to host the final four. Granted, I went to NOLA the year before, so that’s what I’m comparing it to, but Atlanta was not an easy city to navigate, seemed like everything was spread out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy I went to witness the Championship, but outside the games PH, you didn’t miss much. Seems like every restaurant/bar we went to before the games was reserved for a private party, and when we would find one, good luck getting a drink and especially a table to eat. It was nice to catch a braves game, and we did go to Atlanta zoo, but everything was spread out.
Nola was a perfect setup, you could enjoy bourbon street then walk to the super dome. I didn’t go to St Louis, I wonder what fans thought of it as far as hosting the final four. I wouldn’t be upset if NOLA hosted the final four every year.
The only FF site that comes close to New Orleans is San Antonio because of the River Walk, an area all fans end up at before and after the games. Not as crazy fun as Bourbon Street but what the hell is? Hopefully, they keep it in the rotation. We experienced that in Atlanta for the Chick Vs Auburn FB game. Tram it in and then walking the streets trying to find food & drinks. We weren’t stroll in late and expect getting in either folks.
NO Is the place. Sugar & FF. We’ve not been to FF since ‘87, lottery lucky pick in NO. IU, Cuse, Providence & UNLV. Little did we know that coach at Providence would impact our lives twice more.
