Where QBs go to die. This latest kid Johnson-DONE. Had enough. Won't ever play again. This Barker kid-DONE. Gonna hang football up and just go for a degree after being what Cayut fans claim to be their SAVIOR. These stories should be good selling points for rivals recruiting these kids."Go to UK and you might end up never playing football again. Your choice." Why would an elite QB ever want to go there, or any other player for that matter? MAYBE they think they can be the next Tim Couch. Be a God at UK. Get to the league and flounder. Maybe that's the route they wanna pursue. Who knows?

Dupree, Cobb, and I would assume Snell will be their best NFL players. Once Snell leaves next year.

Kinda harsh AND heartless hoss.
Barker broke his back. Broke. His. Back.

Stephen Johnson finished the season needing two shoulder surgeries and a knee job. He would crawl on the field if he needed.

Bad luck. Bad timing.
Whatever.
Next year brings what it does.
Biggest problem is Johnson was a kid whose heart was twice the size of his body.
Gonna be hell to replace.

Wait, WHAT? Barkers decision was made DUE TO a broken back (or remnants of it since it happened a year and a half ago)? Well then why was he still considering a transfer to a more friendly system for his QBing abilities according to his dad? He just break it again? The story I'm hearing is he has decided to concentrate on his Masters degree instead of putting time into football. The UK program wore the kid down mentally and physically, just as it did Johnson. Far as I know, the kid was good to go, thus thinking a transfer might better utilize his abilities. Wasn't due to a "broken back." LOL

In fairness, where the hell would either of them have played? You kind of have to have takers to have options.

Barker was an OVERRATED QB and Idiot...That's why he got his ass knocked out at a bar in Richmond!!!

Johnson was a Gamer and Warrior...He'll be HARD to replace...Much R-E-S-P-E-C-T for him!!!

UK football is one of the biggest jokes nationwide. They are a joke in the only sport that truly matters. Let them ride the basketball horse to infinity, because in the end, nobody gives a damn.

Beat your rival once in 7 years, lose to Florida every year for the past 30 years, let your rival curb stomp you at home, let your rival come back from 21 points to beat you at home, celebrate beating LSU only to lose LOL, lose to NKU in your latest crappy bowl, no BCS bowl appearance in my lifetime if ever......need I go on?

But the real problems are bad coaching and a horrible O-line!

This sums up my thoughts exactly. The fact that they have fans still willing to run down our program is pure ignorance and jealousy

I would NEVER say anything negative about Stephen Johnson...that kid played his heart out
The only bad thing I can say about him is that he chose to go play for that joke of a football club. He wasn't thinking very clearly and that is why he was getting beat up on all year long. Tough kid...I hope hes good at selling mortgages cause thats what hell end up doing. (not that thats not a good career) But to be a starting QB in the SEC (east mind you) but still... and get nothing says all you need to know about UK.

I kind of feel sorry for him, getting talked into a school that leads you on a road to nowhere. Its a QB and coaches graveyard. I cannot think of one coach in my lifetime at UK that has been plucked away from them. Isnt it funny how you never hear their coaches names being thrown around in vacancies.

Yeah, the yearly ass kickin gets old, and having two generations of players never seeing a victory over Florida is worse.
Believe me, since the mid 70s when I started following I've seen enough slapstick keystone Kops football to laugh till I die.
The Louisville 'rivalry' is actually fairly new in the scheme.
Jealousy? Yeah...maybe so. Just me I was hoping UK would do that ACC move when the conference shimmy was happening. Just too much money in the SEC.

ONLY sport that matters????? Lololololol...

They all matter if youre a fan.

They have a guy with the Broncos who is a good LB (name escapes me).
Two starting linebackers for the Titans.
Woodyard has been THE model for a diamond in the rough. Guy was a two star, low three recruit. Undrafted free agent out of UK.
Man has been a captain of every team every year in the league.
Amazing.

Lol....you got your hate goin on good partner, but might wanna re-look at the career walk this kid had.
All b.s. aside, it's a real good story.

The head scratcher on the o line was they are solid run blockers. Snell is a tank, but doesn't do it all himself.

It is hard to figure, but a pass blocker has to be quick and agail on his feet. Also, pass blockers have to see and understand stunts and blitzes. And they are not trained or lack football smarts at UK!

That's a fair enough slant. I kind of lean to an offensive line, especially one not loaded with five star kids, has to learn to work as a unit. Only really clicked solid last year for a couple of games. That old devil depth has a ton to do with that as well. I THINK or more aptly HOPE that's not such an issue this year. As far as coaching....well....to be honest Wilkie as a UK fan I'm really more concerned with the head coach and defensive coordinator spots. A lot of the brethren disagree and believe the secret to success is scoring 30. I like scoring, but if you're giving up forty, forty five it all ends the same.
You can't have any idea how frustrating it is to have a head coach that cut his teeth as a DC and secondary specialist and then watch opponents go for 300plus yards against you.

Now they think they have the next Lamar Jackson in former Oregon QB Terry “Touchdown” Wilson. Those morons love a good nickname.

The prob at uk is upper management. I mean all the Stoops brothers are bad coaches. Good recruiters but bad HCs. I went to the Oklahoma board the day Bob retired and they were happy he was leaving. If John L, Charlie or Bobby got the players Stoops got at OU every year we would have a couple of national championships and not just one we claimed we won either.

Nicknames and gimmicks...
Yahtzee! Terry Touchdown, UK2Gay, ,...they are the most delusional idiots in the world. Ok, not all of them but the guys on their message board.

I have a woman whom I work with who literally wears a different UK shirt everyday of the week and has multiple stickers of UK all over her very nice car. I wonder what her wardrobe looks like.

Those dumb B stards will never get any respect as an athletics program until they take football seriously. I have worked and lived all over the country and can honestly say most people could give a rats ASS about CBB. Its just the truth. And they are the joke of CFB and always will be.

Sorry ....."Terry Touchdown" was a name already in place before UK involvement.

I will agree too many hopes/expectations getting thrown on him. Had some accuracy issues in JUCO that Hinshaw will have short time to fix.
Gonna be an interesting competition for QB.
Clark was from OSU, Hoak is a RS soph and has actually had two years under the same OC/ quarterback coach. Wilson SEEMS to be Johnson with better skills....but that heart thing is something you don't see until the stuff hits the fan.
UofL got a fine kid that was the TE that played with Wilson. He could give better info than any.
From what I've read, looks like you guys will also sign Leonard Taylor...four star that UK wanted as a defensive end...but that young man had his heart and soul set as an offensive player. He spent most of his career as a TE and has played QB (think Fitzgerald at Miss State).
Spring and fall will be interesting for UK AND UofL....I had thought Pass was going to be the next UofL quarterback star until some kid named Jackson blew the world away.

Once again...This is a UofL board...NOT A UK BOARD. Who cares if Barker...Broke. His. Back. Or if Johnson needing to shoulder surgeries. They are UK players...discuss that on the UK site. Did UK fans worry about Michael Bush when he was injured playing UK. No. As a matter of fact, I checked the UK board that night and the majority of the UK Fan Base was laughing about it. So, you worry about the UK Players on the UK Board...Louisville fans will talk about Louisville Players on this board.

I would imagine most actual football fans hate to hear any kid getting hurt. Seeing as you've made your opinion known, it seems you're in the same category of those UK fans you belittle.
Just sayin.

No...My point was that this is a UofL board and we discuss UofL things...not UK things...So Yes, I could care less about a UK player getting hurt, because I don't follow UK football. Sure, anyone in football that gets hurt is bad, but why would I care if he did? I noticed you cherry picked my post and didn't address my Michael Bush comment. So, again address the post...don't make it personal.

I love coach Poops. Hope he stays there for a long long time so my kid has the chance to see him.

Now that I think of it, they have literally never had a good football coach in my lifetime. Well....good in UK terms they have, (6 or 7 wins a year) and some crappy ass bowl that they always lose in...but not good in the typical "manly football' sense.

One of my greatest fears is that one day they'll simply luck into a good coach. If that happens though, I'm sure he will be on the first flight out of town after a season or two.

My concern with that scenario is that Cayut fan would ratchet their obnoxiousness up to a new level.

You are correct, offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships. As you well know and case and point is Alabama.

Truthfully, there's not much more of a myth than offensive line depth. It's sort of imaginary. Defensive line depth, however, is imperative. A good, well-conditioned O-lineman can take every snap. Hell, Eric Wood did just that in his final season as a pro this year.

Wellllllll....
I come here to talk about football....and this is a post about Kentucky football or lack of it.
As far as the Louisville kid getting hurt, I don't take it personal, and hate any kid ending a season with injury.
Sorry if you don't share that unless it's a Louisville kid.
It's all good.
