I know I know..why talk about the pussy cats.... They are our rival and this is a sports message board.

Anyhow, I went over to catspiss to see how much they would puff their chest out after beating a terrible team like they always do.

There is one post where a guy says, " After this win tonight, how far do we move up in the rankings this week guys"? Everytime they beat some crappy ass SEC team, they posture up and discuss how they should move up in the polls and are in line to hang a banner and the tweak has been made. Then, they have terrible Georgia this weekend. I mean, how do they even watch these games, better yet, take any pride when they win them? I seriously CANNOT WATCH SEC BASKETBALL. I try and try I tell ya...it is boring, horribly coached basketball.

Tennessee has lost to Chattanooga, yes Chatanooga, not to mention Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, and pathetic Georgia. Why would anyone move them up after their pathetic schedule? Should the SEC even be considered a P5 in basketball.

I attempted to watch that game last night for 5 minutes. It was typical, pathetic SEC basketball. Id almost rather watch women's basketball. Tennessee would dribble down, make one pass and then shoot. Everyone knows UK sucks at defense, why not make some passes and get some open shots?

I tuned in for a brief moment too last night just to see if Tenn had anything in the tank to pull off another upset. That team is flat garbage. uk should move down for even having played them again. That's a negative bump to your RPI even walking in the gym. But you can bet the house ESPiN will sell it as if the SEZ ed a corner and all of a sudden 5 teams deserve an NCAA bid. I predict there will be zero teams from the SEZ playing the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.

You definitely shouldn't move up in rankings when you beat and play only garbage teams.

I was the one that started that thread not to puff my chest about beating a team that is "last four out" but in regard to all the other teams ranked ahead of us having tough games. Sorry it ruffled your feathers no pun intended

Now they have the best odds to win it all according to Vegas

Where do you get this information? Are you talking about the cayuts? If that is so then I'd bet the ranch that it doesn't happen, period. And then I'd spend my largess on a condo in Florida.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

There's no way a team should be highly ranked with one good win (Carolina) nor should they be able to move up in the polls with only Florida left on the schedule. That gives them a maximum of two good wins possible on the season, and I'm not really sure how good Florida is. (They lost to Vandy for crissakes...)

LPT can rack up a lotta wins playing in an ish conference. But the downside is they better not lose. With two conference losses already, their margin for error is gone.

I think this will be eight years for Pitino Lite with one title. Forget about his team or his season...Lite better start trying to "tweak" his system.

I think these Cats have been thoroughly tested. The SEC is a sleeping giant. South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and Vanderbilt all deserve bids to the big dance...don't overlook LSU and Missouri, they will make some noise in the SEC Tourney...I pitty the teams that are put in the same bracket with them in Nashville. All schools should be well represented in Nashville attendance wise. Georgia alone will bring thousands to the Music City...

Kentucky Florida South Carolina and Arkansas are all getting in the tournament. Still a weak conference but what can ya do?

You could have gotten yourselves into a real basketball conference, but that ship has probably sailed. You made your choice, knowing it or not.

Be objective, and call it as it is....a sh!t conference. In no way shape or form should you move up in the polls after beating a team that pitiful. We lose to a top 10 team with 4 of our players out, and fall down 4 ranks, and I thought the refs and the media were out to get UK? Come on now.

If you have read my posts on this forum you would realize I do literally none of the things you just mentioned.

You're a numbers guy... did you see how much the payout was for each SEC school? Not that it makes a difference to me, as a fan, since I don't see any of that money I would prefer to be in a tougher basketball conference. With that being said I know you can see why we haven't left the sec

I'm always amused by that argument from slapd!cks... Without checking the numbers, I doubt seriously that the payouts were much different among the conferences when LPT made the decision, conscious or not, to stand pat in the SEC. Yet, your school chose to stay in a football-dominated conference. Nor do you know what payouts will be in the future if basketball revenue is largely stripped away from the NCAA as I expect.

So the revenue argument only goes so far and only applies to the present that you know about. The best ADs anticipate the future, unless you're perfectly content playing in a $hit conference.

Had he decision been mine we would have been out, and you're probably right about the payouts not being much different when the decision was made but ultimately it has worked out money wise. Like I said though, as a fan that does nothing for me but watch teams get up for Kentucky and then eventually shit the bed against the rest of the conference and keeps our football team with an 8 win ceiling
