The American Athletic Conference tabbed Briahanna Jackson among its 14 players to watch in January of 2014, days before the 5-foot-4 guard left the University of Central Florida's women's basketball team for personal reasons.

Jackson quietly transferred to the University of Louisville, sat out a year and is poised to become perhaps the biggest addition to a Cardinals roster that also welcomes Asia Durr, by some services ranked the No. 1-ranked class of 2015 player in the nation.

U of L coach Jeff Walz declined comment on Jackson's addition Wednesday, though she attended the Cardinals' tipoff luncheon at the Downtown Marriott and plans to speak at the team's upcoming media day.

Before leaving UCF, Jackson averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.5 assists for the Knights, including a 28-point effort against eventual national champion UConn.

A Tampa, Fla., native, Jackson was Conference USA's Freshman of the Year for the 2012-2013 season after prepping at IMG Academy, also in Florida.

She bolsters a U of L team that returns both its top scorers from last season, sophomore forwards Mariya Moore and Myisha Hines-Allen. But the Cardinals will also heavily rely on five true freshmen after losing their other three starters to graduation.
