U of L takes IARP route

Getting away from the NCAA determining the outcome is a win IMO. The program had no chance with those scumbags. Long wait or not I think this is best for the Cards.

I hope you are right. I hate the thought of waiting until Dec. No telling how long after hearing, for a decision.

This black cloud has hung around FOREVER.

Should we be worried about the time a decision is made will be when Mack has a NC caliber team?

I dont' see anything good of it too be honest. Dennis Dodd stated today it was March 4 of 2020 with Ku being the first under IARP and they have yet to be heard or anything. Your talking almost a year now . Man U of L is looking at possibly 2023/2024 before they even receive any punishment if the the time frame stays at present. And nothing seems to think other wise. Dark cloud is punishment enough.

So that’s what 7 yrs later? IMO and I’m sure many of you...we have served hard time and enough punishment for the Adidas crime.

Sad thing about all this the kids that will get punished for this crap would have been like 11 or 12 years old when U of L committed this mess. Hell those kids probaly would not even know who U of L is let alone Pitino SMH. That's why i would wish the NCAA would just wipe all these schools a clean slate fine the crap out of them probation take a scholly or so and be done with it. Just not going to be fair for the future teams.

I think we’re 2-3 years off from that, unless we get some lucky breaks in guys returning.

But I think it will give Mack some time. He’s been recruiting solid guys too to bottom, but we’ve had to get grad transfers and lean on Pitino guys since we didn’t get a 2018 class.

He may not be stressed to fill roster holes and can keep stacking the roster with top 100 guys. Play the young guys early during the probation year, since we have no stress, then come out on fire with a man experienced team.

eric crawford:

The timetable for a decision from the IARP is not known, and all of its actions and communications with the school are kept confidential until the process is completed and a final decision is announced.

Not too mention look at the players Mack has lost on already because those players all pretty much have stated that were worried about 2022 sanctions. Well it's a pretty strong possibilty that ain't happening now untill at the earliest 2023 at best. We have truly served our time.

I don't agree with any part of this process. The punishments the NCAA dishes out have no impact on the real problem. They're just designed to make casual fans think the NCAA is effective in managing the corruption in college sports.

I think the logic behind punishing the school is if you just punish the individuals that cheated, it incentivizes schools to cheat, fire everyone that cheated then rinse and repeat. If you also punish the school, theoretically, that might make the school think twice about immediately going back to cheating.

Again, I don't believe any of this works as far as cleaning up corruption in the sport.

Agreed, especially when some of the worst offenders remain totally unscathed.
