U of L And The NCAA

The NCAA Investigators have never accepted a school’s rebuttal of violation findings. That would be the same as them saying “Oh gee we never thought of it that way. Our bad. Sorry.” There’s absolutely no news with this action but it gives Sullivan one more paragraph to add to the same story he’s been writing since 2017. And it will give him a few more clicks on the CJ web.

The NCAA rules are so stupid it is amazing schools agreed to them. Fair and Johnson were fired yet Louisville is held accountable because neither will talk to the NCAA.

Let’s say a violation occurred Louisville fired everyone before they knew all the facts. What else could they have done at point? I have no issue giving Pitino, Fair and Johnson long show causes.

No way all this doesn’t end up in court. You can’t cherry pick while ignoring similar situations.

I have posted this before, but it's brilliant (if I may say so) and worth repeating:

The current roster was all in middle school at the time. Additionally, we're 4 coaches later, 2 (potentially 3) AD's later, a new board later, 3 presidents later, 6 years without an NCAAT victory later, 3 years without an NCAAT appearance later, a losing season later, a less than half-full arena later, and Kansas with their 5 level 1 violations winning the NCAAT later. TIME HAS BEEN SERVED and then some, and Louisville needs credit for that and we need to move on.

The culture within the NCAA is not only antiquated, it lacks any hint of justice. While I have every expectation that P5 conferences are preparing the exit from the NCAA, it will not occur in time before further sanctions are instituted on UL. However, I believe UL can counter those sanctions by filing a civil suit against the NCAA, with damages based on punishing the innocent.

The Feb 2018 settlement with the NCAA on behalf of Luke, Gorgui, Van Treese, Henderson and Marra provides a solid indication as to just how compelling UL‘s challenge to the NCAA could be, given the victory those players experienced without much in the way of support outside themselves and the limited legal resource invested in that initiative.

There was just some talk about UL fans challenging the NCAA on our 2013 banner, but nothing ever materialized at that time. I believe a well organized effort committed to taking it to the highest level, could very well result in nullification of any sanctions imposed by the NCAA.

Judges, Juries and media alike have grown tired of institutions, like the NCAA, using outdated and hypocritical methods to punish those who did nothing wrong. UL fans, players and current UL administration could argue that any NCAA sanctions are misdirected. It would require a united effort by the aforementioned to obtain justice.

Some well articulated rebuttals to the NCAA have been made on this thread. Let’s hope our current administration reads this and uses these to our advantage. The problem is I don’t have a lot of confidence in our current administration and BOT.

University Administration folks have their careers at risk if they attempt to challenge the NCAA; any effective challenges will need to originate with the fans and the players using legal counsel …….. the successful initiative that Luke and his fellow players experienced in forcing the settlement with the NCAA was without the University’s participation or support.

I hope this doesn't sound arrogant, but truthfully someone should take post #12 as it is written and send it to the committee. I'd love for someone to provide counterpoints to post #12 and why/how it is wrong and why Louisville should be punished more and what should that punishment be, and again within the context of everything listed in post #12.
