Best team on the field was dominant today. Kentucky's defense was indefensible, and Lamar Jackson carved the Cats like a holiday meal.
I find myself in the strange spot of being embarrassed by bush league play on the part of at least one Kentucky defender, as well as the lack of discipline shown on the part of the coaching staff.

At the start of the year, this kind of follows my predictions, with the only questions how each team performs in their respective bowls, wherever those are.

Congrats on a fine season. Now we get to wait to see a bowl, and whatever next years crop brings around. Good luck, good health to all.

See you guys next football season.

What is the pulse of the fan base? Are many wanting to can stoops for the discipline issues in terms of the fighting and the poor defense?

As with every loss, there is a lot of concern. Stoops is a head scratcher for the fan base. He came as a defensive guru....and that has regressed. He was a 4-3 specialist that switched to 3 down. His specialty was defensive backs, and you saw that. He preaches balance and discipline, but his sideline demeanor and failure to act on players denies that.

Anger right now is to Barnhart. Stoops contract extends one year for each win over 6. His buyout at full price is over twenty million. His. Alone.

Yes....lots of frustration. Two blown coverages against Florida. A last second td from ol Miss. Could've been nine wins. At Kentucky.
There is a split in the fan base today between those that are more or less content with six, seven wins after DECADES of futility. Others want more.

This lack of discipline, if it continues into the bowl game and into next year could be a call to go for broke on the money and make a change.

We get to see.

It’s definitely a tough situation. UK has seemed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory many times under Stoops. However, this year may not be the year to fire him with all of the job openings. On top of that his last few seasons have been what many see as the peak of UK football. I think he would be best suited to add a proven defensive coordinator to help with that side of the ball. UK is a 6-7 win program just like UL is an 8-9 win program. There will be outlier years on both ends, but that is just the reality of the situation. Best of luck in the bowl game and I hope Stoops can rally the troops and fix some attitudes or show them the door.

Thank you. The bowl game now gains huge importance to see if this staff grabs hold of this team.
Jmo, Mark Stoops is far TOO involved with defense. Better off to turn loose some money for someone like Randy Shannon. That way Stoops could concentrate on head coach decisions. And growth.

It will be interesting to see what Bobby Petrino decides to do.
Even if LJ goes pro (not a great idea yet) the Cards have capable talent on board. I truly believe Louisvilles challenge will remain with defense....and im not sold on your current DC. He struggled at Mississippi State as well.
Good luck in the bowl. You guys enjoy.
