Then Vince needs to meet with the team and tell the players to allow him to bring in a new coach. At that time if a player still wants to leave, then so be it. But Vince needs to sell not having to sit out and start over positives to the kids.

Find me a press conference where an AD and outgoing coach under similar circumstances have traded places at the same microphone. Not saying it hasn't happened, I simply don't recall ever seeing it...

I doubt Petrino will have any press conference if he is let go. I am not sure how this thing went sideways this fast. Petrino has completely lost the team that is on him and his staff. There is an obvious disconnect. There is not enough players in the upper classes that believe in Petrino/staff or don't have the leadership skills/clout to keep the younger players together. The leaders are young too have earned the other players respect. This teams player leadership is just as bad as the coaches.
