THIS VIDEO PROVES THAT IF DENG THREW BALL DOWN COURT

we still could have lost. For a state championship, inbounder threw ball all the way to the other end, a defender caught it, heaved it 70 feet back in the other direction and nailed it for the state championship title. so blaming padgett doesn't mean we still would have won. take that doubters

Huge difference. 3.9 seconds versus 0.9. No way UVA would have had enough time to run down a long HIGH pass, turn and shoot in 0.9 seconds. No way. Don't get me wrong, I still feel the Cards lost by not hitting 4 of 6 free throws in the last minute. Hit those free throws and the ending doesn't matter.

The big danger of throwing the ball long in that situation is that it might sail out of bounds with no one touching it. Then, the other team would bring the ball in under their own basket. The safest play was exactly what they planned. (And failed to execute).

Safest way is actually just bang it off the closest defenders ankles. There’s .9 left.

He could fumble it around and intercept it and be bent over as time expired, or it could just ricochet back out of bounds as time expired.

after a day to consider the possibilities i thought the same thing. throw of defenders legs. and then do same thing again.

i think the safest play is to actually roll the ball towards mid court. it takes catching and shooting out of the possibility as you cannot pick the ball up and shoot.

simple fact is the ref showed deng he could not move along the baseline, deng did not pay attention. does not matter one bit what play was called, deng made a bonehead play standing next to the ref who just signaled he could not run the baseline.that's not coaching related. that's a player not focusing on the moment. he's not a freshman we are taking about he's someone who aspires to go to the pro's

as for the vieo i posted, yes impossible play because of time but dude caught the ball and instantly heaved it and if the timer started late would have counted.

Speaking of the clock, how accurate do we really think the guy running the clock is from the angle he has? Not blaming, just saying, .9 is almost impossible for that play to unfold the way it did with .9 on the clock. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Safest play is to inbound the ball without taking steps you're not supposed to take.
