This just in !!!

How ANY self-respecting, worth-a-damn program would go to a bowl with a losing record is just...oh wait...I guess UK would is offered.

I almost wish they had gotten to 6 wins, just to be denied on their APR (if that's even how it works, I don't even know)...that would have been funny though.

Rumor was many of their fans began leaving when we tied the game, lol. They may be dumb, but they are practical!!

UK is mathematically eliminated from Bowl bid in 2016

That is an inaccurate statement. UK is NOT mathematically eliminated from receiving a bowl bid. At 5-7 and with an APR score above 930, they can accept a bowl bid if they are offered one.

The only way they will be offered is if a whole bunch of schools with higher APR scores decline bowl bids, like Missouri has done. Mathematically, they are still in contention. It's just extremely unlikely that as many as 10 schools with 5-7 records will decline their bowl bids.

As I understand, the APR isn't a criterion if you have six wins....

Here are the 12 5-7 teams, with APR score in parenthesis:
(985) Nebraska 5-7
(976) Missouri 5-7
(975) Minnesota 5-7
(975) San Jose State 5-7
(973) Illinois 5-7
(973) Rice 5-7
(954) UTEP 5-7
(951) Old Dominion 5-7
(950) ECU 5-7
(948) Buffalo 5-7
(945) Kentucky 5-7
(933) FIU 5-7

Of the other 5 teams that COULD finish 5-7, Kansas State figures to be in the mix for a bowl bid should they lose next week:
(976) Kansas State 5-6 (WVU)
(958) Texas 4-7 (@Baylor)
(953) Louisiana Lafayette 4-7 (Troy)
(943) South Alabama 5-6 (App State)
(940) Georgia State 5-6 (@Ga Southern)

As I understand, the APR isn't a criterion if you have six wins....

It's only a criterion to the extent that you must have at least a 930 score to be eligible for any postseason play (in any sport, including football).
