Somehow I can't ever imagine Tom Jurich or Bobby Petrino saying something as sad as this....

"The course of almost every season is defined by 15-18 plays" the athletic director said.

"And more often than not those plays didn't go our way this year."

Mitch Barnhart yesterday on the state of Mildcat football. Keep it up Mitchy, the state of UK football is strong!

So that equates to 1 mil per game mistake on the 15 mil coach buy-out.

You cant have it both ways Mitchy. You cant have a 15 mil buy-out for your coach and then say success is contributed to a small amount of plays. If you truly believe in that nonsense then you wouldn't pay that big baby millions a year.

I'd like to ask Mitch if he has any recollection of his Mildcats needing a last minute TD to beat Louisiana-Lafayette or their win at So Carolina on a botched 2 point conversion attempt by the Gamecocks or when they needed OT to beat FCS Eastern Ky after EKU led by 14 late. The same EKU team that just fired their head coach.

I'm sure UK didn't get any fortunate bounces in those games. Could have been more easily 2-10 than 7-5 but I love Mitchy's thinking.

The quote by their first-year-on-the-job-of-OC was another jewel as he threw receivers and QB's under the bus, saying, "I've never seen that before", lol.

That's because you produced that, you stupid moron.

That's what you get when you turn your entire offense over to a guy that was Dana Holgorsen's sideline bartender in Morgantown.

Sold to UKay as "AIR RAID"

Stoops is Mtich's guy, so he has no choice but to go to bat for him. The problem is that the bases are empty, it's the bottom of the ninth, there are two outs, and they're down 10-0.

This very well could be the beginning of the end for Mitch. He's locked in a bad coach with a buyout price tag that they won't be willing to stomach for at least another season, and even when they do, it won't be cheap, not to mention what they will have to pay the new coach just to come there. Hell, they had to settle for the only coach asking for the job. Nobody else even wanted the job. That should have been their first clue right there.

It's one thing to have a bad coach, but quite another to have one that you can't afford to get rid of. Couldn't have happened to a better AD. WTG Mitch!
