There's been recent push to get an NBA franchise in Louisville

i would also love one here. Kentucky Colonels, baby!! i also want MLS. i'm ready for the city to take the next step. it would only continue to help develop and revitalize downtown. growth is good!! with the omni coming soon, it just makes too much sense. with the added business and tax revenue it would generate, perhaps the city could lower income taxes as well. either way, i am very excited to see renewed interest in this!

I would love the opportunity to see some recent U of L players in the NBA but I would only support maybe 2-3 games a season?

I would love to see AAA minor league hockey. Can't watch hockey on TV but the live games are really fun and exciting.

Have no interest in an NBA team and I wouldn't go to any of the games or buy any merchandise. I am surprised that the NBA still has an interest in Louisville. There was a really poor turnout when they had the exhibition game here.
Be careful what you wish for because there is more to having a pro franchise in your city than just going to the games. Most of the cities that get a pro franchise end up having their taxes doubled to help pay for the cost.

I would rather have a pro soccer or even a pro hockey team.

This. I don't even like soccer, but I see how popular LCFC has become. There's no doubt basketball is loved in this state. It goes beyond love for many. But, it's college basketball that's so beloved. The NBA really isn't. I'd probably check a game or two out a season should a team expand or relocate here, but other than that, I wouldn't care. I know UofL would not be in favor. That's where my loyalty lies.

I don't live in the state or city any longer, so I don't know how I feel about this. There's only so much entertainment money for people to spend, and I'm not sure how it would effect the University of Louisville's attendance and merchandising sales. I think it would help pay the arena off, so there is that. Since it doesn't really help or hurt me, I'll just accept whatever becomes reality.

YUM has to pay for itself. There are not enough dates to do that now.I'm not a big NBA fan,but there are a lot of NBA fans in the area.

I feel like the NBA would be a novelty, just like the current soccer team and previous minor league hockey/arena football teams were. Some great years to start, then dwindling attendance and a move/fold.

Plus everyone knows the NBA is basically the same four or five teams contending every year. No way a winner would ever be allowed in such a small market as Louisville.

Could help the Cards start building on the silo site, though. So bring them in.

In the City of Louisville, football and basketball (college) is king, I don't think NBA would want to play second fettle.

CJ's Sullivan all but shoots this down as a councilman's wet dream. This is the Card's town!

The empty seats would be countless. Not enough $ to support it. Don't see this happening.

Lots of people say, "I'd see a game or two."

That wouldn't float it.

In the short term, I don't think a lot of people are interested in going to see what would probably be the equivalent of an NBA farm team. Having said that, if the NBA did come here, I think it would definitely cut into UofL's business. As was previously stated there are only so many dollars to go around.

Long term, pro sports rule nationally. I feel like the Colts from the Manning era on were a big hit to IU basketball that used to be king in Indiana. Watered down enthusiasm for college sports might eventually happen here like it has in most places around the country, hurting both UofL and UK.
