Folks around the program know just how vital this MBB season is to the success of the overall athletic department.

One source told me this season is the most important of any in recent memory. The mentality is invest and win big in 2024-2025 and use it as a spring board for fans to be back in the YUM, and in turn get the revenue back to where it should be.

There is no holding back on improving the roster for year one. Up until the ball is tipped, Louisville is going to be aggressive.

"The fundraising efforts that have gone into building this roster have gone to another level than what was initially planned for.

You could take the approach to save the leftover funds / and stop pushing the envelope and save some of that for next year, or you could use all available funds and exhaust all resources for this year and count on fans / donors responding to the winning."

While running an athletic department is very challenging, it really boils down to winning. The 2 programs that pay the bills have to win. When they do the other sports will benefit. The move to the ACC ended up being timed with bad decisions across the board. A lot of hard lessons have hopefully been learned.
