Not to get too far ahead of this season; it sure looks like the CPK era has put the Payneful era in the rear mirror. Kelsey is so engaged in terms of both pre-game preparation, as well as in-game direction ……. there is good reason to believe that our MBB Program is in good hands.

It's incredible the difference in coaching. I think in a few years ESPN will do a 30 for 30 on how a University almost destroyed its elite basketball program by giving the keys to the most under qualified coach in the games history.

I remember arguing vehemently with others here on this board after the 4 and 28 season that no way should KP get a 2nd season. It was so obvious he didn't know what he was doing.

It almost completely ruined my fandom of college basketball. I rarely watched any games the past two seasons, any teams. I didn't watch the NCAA tournament or fill out a bracket. Something I never thought possible as I've been a huge fan since 1980.

All I could think about when a game was on was how Louisville was the keystone cops and I just couldn't deal with it. It was like why bother, my favorite team doesn't exist anymore. Like some have said, we actually did receive the death penalty for the scandal.

But alas, all that is over and although very flawed, this Louisville team makes basketball fun again.

I know EXACTLY how you feel.

It was obvious that “UofL” didn’t care…so why should I?

All I can think of when I hear that dipshits name is how "broken" we were and how year one was actually year "zero" and how year two was year "one" and how it was going to be at least a 5 year rebuild.. And that dipshit Jerry Eaves backing him up every step of the way.. He should've been so embarrassed that he left town with Eeyore Payne.. All the fans that are still around after the last 7 years are truly the diehards... I gotta admit, if this year would've been another train wreck I would've
probably folded.. Thank God for PFK..!

Last March I was in Gettysburg Pennsylvania, showing my 15 year old grandson the iconic Civil War battlefield. March Madness was on TV one evening at a restaurant we were at, and I remember thinking just a few years earlier, there's no way I would be sight seeing during the Big Dance.

My grandson wanted to watch some of the game so I watched about 30 minutes of the 2024 NCAA tournament. The only thing I really cared about the tournament was UK losing which happened rather quickly.

I have another Civil War trip planned next year at Shiloh, Tennessee but this time it won't be in March.

If you ever go on YouTube check out “vlogging through history”. The guy has some nice things on the civil war, especially Shiloh. It surprises me there’s never been a major movie about that very important battle.

Sorry to all that I brought up the past; as my true intention was to emphasize the present and the future.

The possibility of losing Pryor in addition to Johnson and Traore could be demoralizing for most programs, and at the risk of sounding like I am minimizing the impact; I honestly believe that CPK has the ability to keep the remaining players motivated to work through the adversity.

Kelsey is going to be fine. Too early to tell how good-great he will be in this new world.

This year if Pryor is out this season is going to be hard to evaluate. For me if they make the tournament that will be about a good of a coaching job since Pitino. I may even think that if they get close. Pryor while extremely frustrating does things that others simply can’t.

We will see but this program has some really bad luck. I trust Kelsey to work through that because he is a leader that owns his program. Payne didn’t own anything and would focus on the bad luck.
