The 5 Toughest Power Five Jobs

Iowa st has played in 8 bowl games since 2000. Kansas has won a conference championship and an Orange Bowl in the last 10 years.

Replace Iowa St. and Kansas with Colorado and Kentucky.

UK has had 5 8-win seasons in 40 years. Only 5 bowl games since 2000 and no great season. Colorado is 1-5 in bowls since 2000, although a loss was in Fiesta Bowl. The conference competition the the SEC and Pac 10 makes it much harder to sustain success then in the Big12 and Big10.

Why the hate with Ames? It's less than hour from Des Moines. There are many universitiy towns as secluded as Ames (Champagne, Lincoln,Bloomington,College Station, etc). I liked Iowa St's campus, except their stadium is badly in need for an upgrade.

Not coincidentally, all 5 of those schools have all time losing records. Other Power 5 schools who have an all time losing record, and didn't even make the Honorable Mentions: Kansas St., Oregon St., Mississippi State, and, of course, Kentucky.

I'd argue Syracuse is a top 50 job. They are top 40 in terms of total wins, as are BC and Colorado. Rutgers has an overall winning % of .507. Duke, despite recent success, should have been mentioned somewhere. Any team that successfully argued in court they weren't any good at football should have been listed.
