I know it’s kind of a slow period for sports but was wondering if anyone has been following the TBT tournament? It’s a 2 million winner take all where fans are allowed to buy into the team, sort of like betting for your team. There are 64 teams and they end up playing a 16 team single elimination tournament. Don’t know all the particulars but it is amazing that former U of L players or even former players from the Louisville area aren’t involved. Jerry Smith is still “playing” although he serves more as supporter.

There are a lot of opportunities for both players and fans. Jerry has even mentioned that it might be a way to showcase someone like Russ for another chance to get picked up by a NBA team. You have to have at least one main or multiple investors that serve as a GM along with a coaching staff.

For example last night, a game was played with mainly Kansas players at Wichita St. In 2014 when the tournament started, they played a game there and only 17 fans showed up. Last night approx 7,000 people showed up. There are several teams made up of school’s former players. I would go watch a team with Siva, Russ, Kyle Kuric, Luke Hancock...

Wrong again. The roster for the Aftershocks are Wichita State Alumni and one player from the University of North Texas. There are no Kansas Jayhawk players on the roster. There’s a reason they’re called the Aftershocks. Again, catch up - the short bus is leaving the depot - you need to get on it.

What a idiot you are. The game I watched was Self Made vs Sideline Cancer in the Wichita Regional, played at the Shockers Arena. Self Made is made up of all but one ex Kansas players.

Short bus - hell, I thought that’s where you got your name. Without a paddle!

nice try...but the Aftershocks drew the crowd, look it up. I watched the game, as I told you on another thread earlier today - try and keep up.

Your the same “fan” who was questioning whether David Johnson got hurt at a legitimate practice? Not knowing that the practice guidelines for college b-ball have changed? You’re a joke.

20 hour rule, 8 hour rule? I’ll give you 5 minutes to tell me the rules for offseason NCAA Division 1. Anything more than that and you had to look it up.

PS - stay on topic please.

Pretty cool concept... I could see this really growing into something

Talk has heated up about former U of L players forming a team next year for the TBT Tournament. Possible names that have been mentioned include:
Siva
Hancock
Kuric
Samuels
Clark
Jerry Smith
Behanan
Rakeem buckles
Taquan Dean (goes by his Muslim name now
And last but not least, Russ Smith!

Current NBA players cannot participate but I think can help sponsor.

That team could be decent, because they played together.

From what I've noticed, it's harder for the bigger programs to put in awesome alumni teams for this tournament because a lot of our former guys that are good are in the NBA...and the range of player ages varies.

The So. Miss and Ohio State teams the other night had a good amount of guys still young and all played together in school. They also were pretty good players. UK and UofL have to get role players and older guys that never really all played together and have no chemistry.
