I see where Mississippi State is tartgeting our recruits I guess Buckley wasn't being paid when he was at UL.

It is Big Boy College Football....Buckley is being paid by Mississippi State now...not worried...we will still have a fine class

Theyre targeted REGARDLESS, of Buckley leaving. They do it every season.

UofL does the hard work, securing a commit, and the big boys" come swooping
in late. As of yesterday, bama had only 18 verbals. They can use the last 7 to poach.

Some players verbal to other schools, simaltaneously waiting for their dream school offers. Theyll wait until signing day if need be.

Recruiting is a dirty business.

This...but the good thing is now we are in the ACC and Louisville will still get it fair share of quality players

I know Mississippi State is in the SEC but I wouldn't consider them one of the big boys, you hardly ever hear about them.

And you think we're not poaching as hard as we can?

I've seen numerous posts referencing "So-and-so's commit visiting UL". I don't go read 'em because of this flipping stuff. Nothing matters until they sign the line.

We'll lose some, and we'll win some.

No real reason to worry a great deal. A recruit either has the ability to come in a contribute immediately - L. Jackson - or you have to wait a few years to see if the kid's body matures and he becomes a valuable part of the part.

On top of that, most of us do not know the style of play Big Time HS is playing and whether it is the strength of the recruit. Some blossom by being on a running team/passing team.

Too much guess work in football to follow recruiting.

Whoever we hire to replace Buckley will more then likely be in on some kids that they were recruiting for their past employers too. Its just the nature of the business. And the Mississippi kids we had verbal, I'm sure, were already being recruited by MS St. before Buckley left.
