Syracuse 3-0, FSU 3-0, Brohm and Purdue 1-2

just saying... we've lost to only undefeated teams and the #1 replacement everyone wants just lost to the same team as us and is 1-2. be careful what you wish for.
Somewhat disingenuous point there. Brohm had the game won until deserved or not, the yellow flags cost Purdue the game.

Brohm is no sure thing but he's head and shoulders a better coach than Satterfield. It's blatantly obvious.

Brohm turned us down once before. Bridge is burned in my mind. He also plays a finesse offensive style. But, I can say with certainty if he were to become HC, he’d lock the local talent down in this city. He’d bring a renewed energy coaching for his alma mater. That’s a big deal when that happens. It doesn’t always work (Frost, Joker) but when it does (Spurrier, Harbaugh) it works really well. I think Heird may be his own man, however. Brohm would be the easy hire.

Oh but Syracuse sucks though...right? Yes...let's bring in 1-2 Brohm. Our bar is so low

Fans can justify all things Brohm and most do but Purdue lost the game today, no, Purdue gave away the game today, because their players and ST coach were UNDISCIPLINED. They had the game WON. GAME OVER.
Then #87 got in the face of a Syracuse player and crap talk him. It wasn’t just jawing, it was EXCESSIVE.
UNDISCIPLINED. POOR SPORTSMANSHIP. Giving a game away.
EMBARRASSING THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM
EMBARRASSING THE UNIVERSITY
Thats what our fans are asking for because like it or not,
it all falls on the HEAD COACH.

Who would you like as new HC?

I like Brohm and his offense (defense not so much, an easy example being the last play today), and I was hoping he was coming back home 4 years ago. And it is clear that he is the fan favorite for the next UofL head coach. But for anyone who thinks he is a slam-dunk savior, maybe it would be worth watching the undisciplined personal foul display at the end as well as the final plays today. Will he be that much better?

Well said! The loss last night was painful, but I cannot fault this staff. As valuable and courageous as Malik is to this team, his mistakes cost us both of our losses . It is equally true that without him we would not have even been in the game; sadly he struggles throwing the football with any consistency.

You cannot fault the staff? Who teaches fundamentals? Who teaches effort? Who teaches tackling?

C’mon, man. You’re smarter than that.

gee same thing, same penalties happens to our team and we blame satts but it happens to brohm and all ok. sound like politics, like an ex prez does nothing wrong, brohm does nothing wrong even though he sucks

for the last 20 years no matter who coaches us we have too many penalties, cannot tackle and cannot beat good teams. doesn't matter who we get we still will have the same issues. nothing has changed. go back and read posts for the last two decades the complaints are exactly the same so a new coach won't solve anything. that's the pure reality. we are not a top 30 program and shouldn't expect to beat top 50 teams. take away teddy and lamar and we've sucked for a decade. only incredibly qb's have overcome coaching. sad but true. malik is nto a great qb, fumbles way too much and not a game changer. so, we'll got 6-7 every year until a generational nfl pro qb comes here, doesn;t matter the coach, only the qb matter. simple as that

Brohm is not the answer. He would of been a better choice than Satterfield because the timing was perfect. He stayed at Purdue.

Can’t play the flags cost them the game remember a loss is a loss. The same thing that costs Louisville close games has costs Purdue games.

If a move is made it better be a significant upgrade.

Take a deep breath. It’s going to be ok. You either have a short memory, or don’t know the history of UofL football. Without further discussing your inferiority complex, I’ll just say I agree with you about Malik. He’s a terrible QB. Regarding tackling, the Strong era showed us outstanding tackling. It can be done. Just not by Satterfield and his staff.
Who do you want as new coach, I ask again?

Keep satterfield...not going to get better at Louisville

History proves otherwise.
History is we have never been good enough to be in the playoff system. We are always stepping stone for coaches to get to better jobs...why? Even the great snellenburger left us for greener pastures. Hang in there.... Syracuse is better than we thought Florida State is 3-0 and we beat Central Florida and we have a top class coming next year.

The “top class” hasn’t even signed FFS! Even if most of them do after the shit show of a season sunbelt scotty is about to unleash on us - they can all transfer the next year.

I bet you’re constantly listening for Ed McMahon to knock on your door too.

We shall take our Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Sugar Bowl trophies, melt them down, and mold them into another useless Ohio River fountain for all to see as a warning that UofL is a worthless football program.

You’re a shit fan.

Penalties an indication of coaching? Go back and look at UL during those successful JLS years; we were one of the most penalized teams in all of college football.

I am not excusing the mistakes, or the performance …… but we did not lose to Syracuse because of penalties; any idiot who watched the game witnessed Syracuse as the team being penalized the most, but they executed in overcoming the procedural errors.

The insults from “those Satterfield haters” on these threads are unwilling to review the film, examine the statistics and take into cosnide ration the injuries this roster is experiencing to an already shallow depth chart.

We have a talented, athletic and courageous Malik Cunningham at QB, but he is struggling to achieve any degree of consistency throwing the football. Compare his QB pass rating to those of his opponents in both losses …….it’s overwhelming, and despite his huge contribution in other respects …… the losses can be traced back to his poor passing, and the ineffective routes these receivers are running.

Satterfield has not thrown a single interception this season, but if you want to assign blame for these two losses, take a look at the percentage of completions and the 3 interceptions thrown by Malik for evidence.

...for the last 20 years no matter who coaches us we have too many penalties...
So far this year we rank...
#120 in Penalties/Game (10)
#110 in Penalty Yards/Game (75.7)

As a kids' coach I could not "accept" penalties and would probably be the same if a college coach!

Peace

My biggest complaint with Satterfield is him being the OC. But if it was someone else calling the plays, Satterfield would still be blamed by most of the fanbase.

Whoever is the next head coach at Louisville, he too will be called a bad coach or not a good fit, when he loses games. I just don't know what coach could survive, except Nick Saban, here at UofL if the Cards lose games.

Take away the Syracuse disaster as that is an outlier in the Satterfield era. Most of the losses are close games where a handful of plays or decisions cost the Cards the game. That first season, Satterfield won more of those games, but not so much since.

This loss to FSU was not on Satterfield. He came out throwing the ball and the offense looked better than it has this season, but once again when we got that 2nd half lead, he went conservative with the play calls. I just wish he would hire a OC.

Malik played he ass off and could have easily won the game but for some reason the breaks at crunch time just continue to go against the Cards. On both offense and defense.

There are many examples of coaches who didn't win much their first 3 to 5 years but eventually became winning coaches. Just look at Stoops at UK. Did he somehow improve that much? I don't think so.

I don't know what the solution is. UofL is not going to hire a established top end coach if they FARR Satterfield. Another up and comer will take over and as soon as he loses a close games, he too will feel the wrath of the fanbase.

My big problem is Satterfield shows very little fire in a motion and that translates into his team such as players giving up on plays and just laying down at times.

To this point in his tenure it doesn’t seem there is much accountability either

Your prior comment was demeaning to UofL and all the fans and players that have built up the program regardless of what you think about Brohm. You looked like a UK fan trolling.

Sounds like a liberal comeback, when they don't want to hear a different opinion. Any way, I am not new around here...you can check all my old post.

Oh yes, let’s inject some political terms in here now. Give me a break. Pretty sure I’ve started dozens of threads happily engaging with differing opinions. Sorry you don’t think UofL can get better. That’s an unfortunate mentality in my book. Make UofL Great Again.
