I didn't realize that there were 22 scholarship players gone. I heard the announcer say that when CSS and CBB got here they basically said, either you're all in or there's the door. If this is true then hat's off the CSS and CBB again and it makes the players we have look a hell of a lot more impressive.

Who is CBB?

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

The attrition on defense is what killed them. They had big enough bodies in Love, Boykin, and Jackson. Had they bought in 100% then depth isn't an issue. Greenard wouldn't have fixed it all but I agree FSU would of had problems with him which could of been the difference.

Yeah, when they said that, it really brought home our reality. Ugh. Coaches are doing a great job with what they have, and a bowl game is definitely within our grasp.

Stats like that always intrigue me ....

It’s tough to keep track of who exactly is on scholarship now, let alone who was on scholarship a year ago ... but based on participation information from the media guide on the 2018 season, we did return 52 players who participated in games last year. And I’m not counting PJ Blue, Dejmi Dumervil-Jean, or TreSean Smith in that list, since all three are out for the season.

I don’t quite come up with 22 players gone, but from the 2018 roster, I do find 15 gone from last year. Those were:
TE Kemari Averett (kicked off team)
DL Michael Boykin
DL Jonathan Greenard
WR Jatavius Harris
DL Jarrett Jackson
DL Allen Love
QB Sean McCormack
K Evan O’Hara
WR Marcus Riley
DL Kaheem Roach
RB Trey Smith
DB Lamarques Thomas
QB Jordan Travis
RB Dae Williams
RB Colin Wilson

Perhaps there were 7 or more who were on scholarship who never saw the field last year. Or perhaps that 22 number includes TreSean Smith, Dumervil-Jean and PJ Blue....

Bottom line to me is that, even with 22 gone, we still returned 52 players who saw action in 2018. No, that’s not good enough to compete with Clemson, but all of that returning experience does explain why we’ve been able to win 4 games this year. And the loss of 5 defensive linemen (not counting Dumervil-Jean) tends to explain why we’re so undersized at the DL spots.

We were 2-10 with them.

And 4-3 without.

We'll never know if they'd be a help, or hinderance this year, but I have to think there attitude/confidence was totaled.

Are any of them besides Greenard doing anything anywhere, or projected to?

I'm not sure were that number comes from. If you count the roster we have 118 players. I realize some of the players are walkons.

Trey Smith transferred to Wyoming. He had over 100 yards in one game and 227 with 3 TDs total, but he’s been out with an ankle injury.

QB Jordan Travis is 3rd string at FSU, but hasn’t played a down there yet.

DT Allen Love transferred to Mississippi State, where he is sitting out this year.

Michael Boykin and Kam Jones transferred to FCS schools, Tennessee State and Tennessee Chattanooga respectively. Jones was apparently one of those “hidden” players who were on scholarship in 2018 but didn’t appear in any of our games.

If the roster on this site is updated, there are 40 seniors, 7 of them are Dline.

I’ve never known the roster on here to be right. Howie used to try to get updates to the Rivals people, but they were always ignored. You have to go to the official UofL site at gocards.com to get anything close.
