Is it just me or is there a sense that the starting rotation may see some movement during the season?
It's been a few years since at least the weekend rotation wasn't rock solid (and I'd say that's more common).
Luke will be the Friday guy. Love him out of the gate. Right now,it appears to be Perkins and Albanese on the other two days.

I thought Perkins was coming off an injury. Hopefully, all goes well for his healthy return as is Wright, who may be a candidate at some point.

I believe you’re spot on, we will probably see a few different variations of weekend starters until CDM settles on the three he wants to start. As you mentioned, Luke is your Friday night guy. After that, you have quite a few options. Perkins, who missed last season recovering from Tommy John, will definitely be in the mix, along with Albanese. Prosecky could get a crack at it, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Kirian get a shot. The staff hinted at it during the off-season and Kirian started one of the Pizza Bowl games and was very impressive. Coach Williams has done this a few times, moving a closer into a starter role and most recently noted how successful Adam Wolf was with the transition.

I agree about Prosecky. There's a shortage of left handed starters it seems. He could be that guy at some point. The shortened season last year did yield some benefit. Prosecky and the other true Frosh pitchers were thrown into the mix early. It should benefit all those guys this time around.

I’d be surprised if we end up in Omaha this year.

We had a once in a generation pitching class last year and I don’t think you reload that in 1 year. It would be extremely impressive if he can get there this year.

Hard to replace 2 first rounders for sure. This is the task at hand. I think there are 2 solid guys going right now. What Luke lacks in Star power,he makes up in grit and desire. He has improved his velocity. The other is Albanese. If indications are right,he may go in the 1st round in the next draft. He was dominant in the Fall.
There are plenty of questions after those two guys for sure.

If pitching can grade out at least at a ‘B’ and if defense grades out to at least a ‘B’ I beleive we will be in great shape. Why? Hitting. If pitching and the D can be good (don’t have to be great or stellar) then I see our bats being the muscle for this year’s team. There are hitters up and down this lineup. Scoring runs (to no one’s surprise) alleviates a lot of pressure on the pitching staff. Not only are there just plain good hitters - there is also power. There appears to be more power (potential) on this team than we’ve seen in Many years. And, while the staff may lack that ‘wow’ factor I think they make up for it by having multiple very good pitchers from which to choose from.

I also saw where Perkins was on a list for pre season honors. This has to be based on his ranking out of HS. He's had surgery, but if he gets back to being 100 percent,he looms big for this team.

With the loss of Detmers and Miller, it’s a tough task, but we have the best group of position players in the country, no one is better. If our pitching is just above average, we’ll be in good shape because we are going to score a bunch of runs.

Yeah, I think there are guys that will get the job done, just probably not for 6-7+ innings like Miller and Detmers did most outings. The Pen is deep.
