Going to primarily be executive session regarding a personnel matter. Could be sports related or may not be. My guess is Tyra was offered FSU job and UofL deciding to extend his contract.

Could be anything. FSU isn’t offering their AD gig to Tyra. Tyra put that out there. It wasn’t a coincidence the news of him and FSU broke an hour after the Satt is staying news.

Looks like I stand corrected, as I laugh as hard as humanly possible. FSU and Tyra sounds real. Christmas done come early. Thank you, Noles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why FSU would want Tyra. What has he achieved?

Then again, their football program has been almost as much of a hot mess as ours over the past few years, just with more talent.

Like children, sometimes, you have to let them make their own mistakes.

He’s well respected in the conference as an administrator. I think people outside our UofL bubble can see the total shitstorm he’s had to deal with here. Too many UofL fans think a magic wand can solve the effects of cheating and mismanagement.

AS usual not one self proclaimed U of L media guy is reporting inside U of L news before Jones. After the the fact they wil be claiming they already knew this but never say anything until KSR Matt puts it out first.

“Media” members have different thresholds for what they report. Plenty of insiders had scoops on UofL football last week. It just so happens most of them were wrong.

From Eric Crawford:

“Overview: At Louisville, upheaval continues. Fans disengaging from football, AD perhaps departing, NCAA circling and sources saying university intent on handling it with minimal athletic input, and Chris Mack's future is very much in doubt if the NCAA returns Level 2 sanctions.”

LOL so the takeover is complete . Glad i got my memories of the good times because our BB program going forward under this admin is history. I could really care less about the fb because it's always going to be what it is up and and down. With a revolving door of coaches. Mens BB is what drives this school fanbase and without that what's too root

CJ reporting that Tyra is gone. There is a God.

And there's hell on Earth as well if Josh Heird is his replacement...

Pat Forde:

According to several reports, including those from Sports Illustrated’s Pat Forde and WDRB’s Eric Crawford, an untenable relationship between Tyra and U of L president Neeli Bendapudi as well as others in positions of power at the university have played a large part in Tyra’s decision.

The common thought surrounding this move seems to be that Florida State is having some financial difficulties, and Tyra is seen as having done an impressive job balancing U of L’s budget during his time here.

Watch what you wish for. I was never excited about Tyra when he was hired, but I recognized that he inherited a horrible mess, and then followed up with the Covid interruptio..

If you think he made a mistake extending CSS‘s contract ……..fine, we just agree to disagree as I do not believe we had any better option.

Those close to UL knew months ago that Vince was leaving and his counterparts in the ACC view Tyra as visionary, and highly respected. If not FSU, it would be elsewhere.

Before you “thank your lucky stars”, let’s see who we end up with in that position.

Exactly. The oust-Tyra vigilantes may not like what follows. He guided the athletics through the budget ripping Covid (and his expertise was requested from many other universities), he set up our NIL program and he may have been the last line of defense in keeping Mack after the Gaudio stuff. So now do you really think a new AD is going to have Mack’s back? Do you think our coaches in other sports (baseball, women’s bball, volleyball - all of which he worked out contract extensions) are going to feel real comfortable with the direction?

Bro you wanted him gone it seemed you hadn't considered the replacement might not "fit your needs" ???

Dark times Z. Hop needs a flashlight.

@Mike'sMarbles brought this up a few weeks ago in a thread.

We don't know how interested this administration is to being competitive in athletics.
I think this is a legit concern. With that said I didn’t have a problem with how the Mack’s suspension was handled. Mack knew he had to run a clean program. He failed to do that and it got exposed. I would be pissed if I was the President. Mack is paid handsomely shouldn’t make these kinds of mistakes.

Guessing here Vince knows his replacement and everyone is on the same page with keeping Satterfield. There are zero reports Brohm was ever contacted. I don’t think Vince was planning on firing Satterfield. The UK game made it tougher. The new AD will be an internal hire. It could be a very smooth transition from Vince to the new AD.

The problem is the optics are terrible. Back the original point Vince and the President don’t have the same vision for athletics. That seems pretty clear. That doesn’t mean she interfered with the Satterfield situation.

Mack didn't get suspended for how he runs a program. He got suspended because of how he handled Gaudio's extortion attempt. 6 games was excessive.

I call BS. Louisville is a small town at the end of the day. News would have gotten out about his departure. I can't even begin to address your visionary and highly respected comments. Nice spin, I guess. But, FSU doesn't exactly have the track record on making good hires, but you do you.

I do not recall any posters in this space advising Vince was in the process of hitting the road at any point prior to last Friday.

He is current Deputy AD
Looking at his bio, I can get on board with Heird. A Jurich protege for nearly 10 years before he left for Villanova. Tyra, that visionary, named him Deputy AD in April 2019 upon his return. Jurich camps and Tyra camps should be able to unite, if he gets the gig.

Forget my credentials CardX; the fact that you believe that you have more insight about AD qualifications than FSU, is more than presumptuous ............ it is an example of how little you know about FSU, or your own AD. You might want to conduct a little research about just how prestigious FSU is, and why Tyra was their #1 choice .

Lastly X: if you were not aware of how fractured the relationship between Vince and Neeli became after the 6 game suspension of Mack ............. its because you are not engaged much outside this website.

No IPWH, very few if any posters are going to come on a site like this initiating a rumor about an AD looking to leave his job. However there were several threads that noted the differences between Neeli and Vince once we heard Tyra's response to her decision.

I'll just say this... Heird is reportedly an a$$clown that people who work around him know all too well. Hopefully, he's just interim and won't do too much damage until a permanent is hired.

My theory at 3:30 PM on 12-6-2021 to try to reconcile everything we (think we) know...

Tyra wanted to fire Satterfield and pay whatever was necessary to bring Brohm here. Neeli told Tyra that he can make that decision as long as it doesn't dig an even deeper financial hole in athletics. Knowing better than anyone that was impossible, he's jumping ship.

We don't talk financials in this debacle, and that's a significant oversight. There's plenty of evidence that the ULAA is close to being illiquid. For sure it's illiquid without borrowed funds. We were down to one week's operating cash on hand before borrowing $20 million in April, and we're operating on those dwindling funds now. Neeli may not know athletics, but she probably understands money and recognizes a financial problem.

And Tyra does too, he's just in denial. As AD, he's been largely responsible for our current situation, and bolting to FSU gets him out of the financial mess he had a big part in creating.

Of course, I'll change my mind on all of this when we hear news to the contrary...

Here's the research I've done: Noles hate the potential hire. They don't know who he is, because he's a relative unknown in college athletics, who has proven capable of exactly nothing of note.

There was never any mention of Neeli's and Tyra's fractured relationship here, at games, on social media, or at lunch with long time fans and donors. It's only come to light recently. The announcement of Mack's suspension came in late August, so, if I missed something these last three months, which isn't that long, during football season, where almost the entirety of my attention is directed, I must be really un-engaged. These boards, I'll let you in on a little secret, are for sharing information, thoughts, opinions, and, even rumors. Claiming to know something was going to happen after it happened is easy to do.

Read back your statement. He didn’t get suspended for doing his job. He got suspended for not doing his job. Lucky he wasn’t fired like I would be.

Dude, he’s not unknown to the Seminoles. We’re in the same conference. There are all kinds of meetings that the AD’s of each school have to meet i.e, football, basketball, baseball etc.

As good a theory as any.

The best part of this is Z is the first poster to go on record basically saying F everybody involved.

It's gonna be a fun 24/48 hours. Or should be.

I was talking the fans. Now, if you're telling me we should all know who the AD's are at each ACC school, that's something else.
