"In today's day and age, nothing surprises you," Kelsey said. "Love that kid, love that young man. I'll support him. I'll be there for the rest of his life. You don't take things like that personal. He's going to do great, wherever he goes."

"He knows I love him," Kelsey said. "He knows I'm there for him.

"He's a phenomenal young man. A phenomenal family. I wish him nothing but the best."

Kelsey shows how the game is played. There is absolutely no need to trash Scott. Scott sees the transfers coming in, and knows his playing time is going to diminish. He could not/would not address his offensive weaknesses, so he needs to go somewhere they can be glossed over. And that is not on a team with title aspirations. Thankfully, that is, once again, the University of Loisville.

One of several flaws with transferring via the Portal is the disparity between what the player expects versus the plan the coaching staff have for their new arrival.

In this scenario, Scott may be expecting more minutes at his new school, but it could result in finding himself being used more as the coach’s insurance policy rather than a primary role.

Indeed the grass is not always greener on the other side, and sometimes it’s better to be with the devil you know versus the devil you do not know!
