I find Mark Ennis to be fair and reliable in his reporting. However, the use of twitter or other social media to report a story is not kosher to me. Plus I like these boards a lot more since he has been in charge. I find it believable that Nick Petrino would do something like this as he’s a p#i*k. And now they’ll find this out at UTMartin as that is where he ended up. I cannot imagine who down there would hire him.

Mark wasn’t breaking news with his Nick Petrino comment. He included that statement when replying to someone else’s comment regarding Bobby’s tenure being not so bad.

Jeff probably got some latitude being Brian’s brother and also had been a major college QB and played in the NFL, neither of which Nick has accomplished.
It’s hard to know with this generation, some of whom seem to be terribly fragile emotionally. Stuff our coaches would have done/said in high school would put some kids today in a psych ward. Unless we know exactly what Nick said/did, it’s hard to assess. That’s the problem with this sort of report- lack of detail so that we can assess.

Nothing I hear surprises me, and I accept very little anymore as "truth" when it can't be verified. It also wouldn't surprise me if I heard Jordan Travis was a malcontent who expected playing time he didn't deserve.

I watched Nick Petrino many times during practices and in games. I never saw the first sign of that type of behavior while witnessing it plenty of times from other coaches. That doesn't mean Nick wasn't capable of it, but no, he's not someone I would have suspected.

If anything, I saw less of that behavior from U of L coaches during Petrino 2.0--which I think was part of the problem...

Completely agree with this. Petrino 1.00 was red in the face, calling everyone MFers and slapdicks, riding his Harley wherever he damn well pleased and getting behind hot volleyball chicks. 2.00 was more reserved, at least publicly. Plus some coaches yell and scream as part of their style, if true I doubt anyone would care about Nick yelling at JT if the season had went better.

definition of verbal abuse please? i may be liberal buy i understand coaches yell. some players react positively some don't. coaches should adapt not the players but players should also know most yelling isn't personal. however, if a coach makes the yelling personal taunts then that's different. but until is see exactly what was said i'll err on the side of a coach yelling is normal. but show me what was said first., screaming GODAMNIT DO YOUR FFFING JOB AND LiSTEN WE;VE BEEN OVER iT 100 TIMES is one thing, add an adjective describing their heritage, race, religion or sexuality in front of the FFFING and now it's a different ballgame.
