So is it Pass or Cunningham?

With so much going on this topic probably hasn't really been discussed enough. Given yet another in-game substitution it really does look unclear right now.

Cunningham has obviously made more plays. But he has also shown reluctance to throw it and relied more on his legs. Another interesting thing is his size. Not to pick on the short guy but it does add to an adjustment for the receivers in being able to locate the ball.

I just don't know what to make of Pass right now. His receivers hurt him but he did throw a 100 MPH fast ball on a 4 yard curl and he hasn't shown a lot of fire out there either.

Thoughts?

Here is the sad bottom line. If you have a disorganized poorly coached team that cannot execute, you are probably better off with the quarterback who can scramble, run and turn busted players into something. Sad to watch but Cunningham probably works better within this train wreck of an offense.

Good question. I guess it boils down to whether you think Petrino is a better play caller with a more traditional pocket QB or, with a RPO guy. He sure hasn’t shown any of the creativity this time around as he did previously.

In my mind this kind of coaching is the lazy mans route. Cunningham clearly is doing what he has too, but how much coaching does it require? It is a train wreck and that’s on the coaches. Puma has played very little under center and that’s his style. And that’s what we were told he would do. Not to date. The O-line doesn’t look much better than last year....disappointing!

I expected this to be a rebuild on D because we’re playing some really young but talented guys. And it will take time. I see glimmers of hope, but our secondary keeps undermining the line. Every time we had WKU in a third and long the secondary would give up the big play.
I think over time that will improve. But not quick enough to avoid loses.

The offense that’s what really pisses me off. We have an experienced line, a stable of running backs, and countless talented receivers. And it looks like a train wreck. And that IMO is poor coaching and lack of preparation. That’s all it could be. Cunningham creates chaos and that’s why it’s been successful. That will end when we play a good D. Because Cunningham isn’t LJ.

This is his third year learning the system and he looks more like a true freshman. Lay off the grass Pass or you will continue to waste your opportunity and physical talent.

So who is your source with accusing Pass in this thread, and countless others on the team in another thread of smoking weed all of the time? Do you have a source or do you just make up shit all of the time to fit your false narratives?

Its slander to actually call someone out like you did Pass, watch what u say.

So you say they appear to be stoners with the lack of focus and concentration but aren't really? Are they really just that dumb or incompetent? Is that what you are saying?

Yet I have been completely right about the season so far and you have been completely wrong. How does that work?

You have been right about nothing. We have a young team, a new qb, a young defense. This team is exactly what i expected. You are living in lala land.

Hard to tell.

We were sold that Pass was the guy and now heading into week 4 this is where we sit.

It’s hard to see either one of these guys being wildly successful given the play we are currently seeing from the running game, WRs, defense, etc...

This could get ugly or uglier... The fortunate thing maybe that many of the other ACC teams on the schedule do not appear to be playing great either aside from the usual and a few others.

Cunningham and I don’t think it’s that close. That dude has a fire in his belly and he’s ultra competitive. The issues that he has throwing the ball can be corrected. I think the team played harder and the receivers played with more confidence and effort when Malik was in the game.

I don’t think Pass has the leadership to be the guy. When he got pulled yesterday he walked around the back of the sideline with a towel on his head moping. He wasn’t watching the game and cheering on his teammates. He wasn’t analyzing the defense in the case that he had to go back in. He looked defeated and uninterested. He seems to be letting his mistakes compound themselves. I don’t think he has a buy-in from his teammates. The receivers looked frustrated at every ball he threw too high, too hard, or a little behind them like they expected that type of throw from him. When your receivers believe in the guy throwing the ball to them you see a different level of effort in their route running and how hard they go after the ball when it’s in the air

Is that what you told yourself with Barker and Patty Ice?

Lulz.

Both had a lot going against them. Towels had 3 different coordinators and two different head coaches. Beyond that he didn’t have good pocket presence and took too many sacks. He wasn’t a particularly accurate passer. I never faulted his effort. He just wasn’t that good but I thought he had the respect of his teammates because they knew he was doing the best that he could.

I think Barker could’ve been a good quarterback but he was never going to be the same after his back injury/surgery. He only played in a few games before his career was derailed by it. He gave up football before his eligibility was up

A lot of Louisville area talking heads in sports radio claim Jordan Travis is actually the best QB in the program. I’ve not seen any open practices so I have no opinion on it but I’ve heard that various times.

You’ve mistaken me for someone who gives AF about having a conversation with a yut about the yuts, on a UofL board.

I think given that he had come into the last 2 games and basically produced most of the offense, it will be Malik starting. It’s unfortunate for Pass but I think his receivers and offensive line really let him down.

Agreed.

And I also think the receivers and o-line are really letting Puma down. Why is that, though? Why does everyone's energy seem to ramp up when Malik comes in? Someone in another thread indicated that when taken out of the game Saturday, Puma paced the sidelines with his head in a towel and didn't encourage his teammates. Does Puma have the leadership qualities necessary to run a team? It seems as though Malik does, and his teammates respond positively to it. I don't know, man, I'm grasping, I know.

The team voted Puma a captain so I would assume he had their respect. I think the energy Malik brings is basically that he is much more athletic than the defenders on ISU and WKU. The question is that if that continues in ACC play.

They repeating what Chris Redmon stated however Chris also stated theat Lamar should change positions in the NFL so take that with a grain of salt.

I thing MC starts at VA and if they stack the box and we can't move the ball you could see Puma.

The play calling has to get better for either one. I formations and run the ball, play action passing game, some of the confusing crossing patterns that CBP was known for....I'll take any of the three as I haven't seen harldy any up tot his point.

And lastly, catch the *&(^%$(&^% football no matter who is QB, drops are killing us!
