Shawnkel Knight-Goff is no longer a Kentucky Wildcat. A source tells KSR the Louisville native has left the football team.

Knight-Goff is a 6’2″ freshman linebacker out of Doss High School. He committed to Kentucky over Louisville a year ago after originally committing in May and reopening his recruitment. He was ranked one of the top 10 players in the state and one of the 50 best weakside defensive ends in the nation

We’ll have more on this situation as it develops

Coming home to UL if he’s good enough to play at this level.

Not really knowing the background of why he is leaving UK or if he or U of L has any mutal interest. It was just a matter of the local players seeing what kind of product CSS would put on the field. That would stop the mass exodus up 64. Vince Marrow thumping his chest it's over they'll pluck a couple just because we can't take all the local talent but they won't get the best anymore. Unless the kid just wants to play in the SEC which some do understandable.

I've heard Weaver really wants to transfer back home however his mother stated no he is staying.

First they have to be able to defend the UL way and right up there with that, they have to want to be here.

I don’t know either way, but I’m guaranteeing that playing in front of the hometown folks is a huge draw.

One more note, some of you may already know, but Satt is inviting the alum players to come be a part of the program in a big way. That’s been missing big time under the Petrino regime. And it’s smart especially with so many hometown hero’s that have played at the new stadium and the baseball field before that.

I have no idea if the kid can play at this level. Freshman year is really tough especially if you are redshirting timing is odd.

Just chiming in....he seemed a good kid, but if I recall his UK recruitment was yes, no, yes again. I dont think his heart was really into being at UK. I dont know why he wants to leave and never really will, but best of luck to him. Like I already said, as far as I know a good guy at a school he never was truly a hundred per cent on.

I’ll be watching for more info as the days go by. Regardless, I wish this kid the best in whatever and wherever he elects to go and do.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

I like our incoming class. These kids [Goff and Weaver] had a chance to sign here and didnt. Sorry they missed the bus but not our problem.

As a student-athlete, the last thing I would've done is sign on to play for CBP and his staff last season. Crooks. Don't blame Goff and Weaver, blame Bobby and staff. And YES, they both can play at this level FWIW....

Easy. They are just kids. Many with handlers and some with circumstances, either family or other, that dictate situations to come home. Besides, UL current status was in upheaval.

I do get your point, for a few that might hold true, but these are just kids.

Weaver I’ve seen. Man-child on the field. And I know his position well. He can play.

Diaby is same size, same quicks as Weaver. If J Boykins comes in January as rumored, we don't need either. However, if they can be moved into the 2019 or 2021 classes, hell yes, both are plenty good enough to play here and I'd take them quick. Loved my Mom but I'd come home anyway.
