Former St. Xavier High School offensive lineman Wyatt Smock, who transferred to Louisville from Vanderbilt in August, is no longer with the program, a team spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
Smock, a redshirt freshman, likely would have had to sit out the upcoming season and would have had four years of eligibility remaining. The reason for his departure was not immediately known.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman originally chose Vanderbilt over Louisville and signed with the Commodores' 2018 recruiting class. He was rated as the No. 50 offensive guard and the No. 9 prospect among Kentucky high schoolers that year, according to 247sports.com.
