Satterfield to Cincinnati.?????

Don’t blame him a bit if he does.

Go where your wanted.

Cincy still has visions of greatness.

We are content cashing conference checks.

At least until the conference offers us enough to leave.

Guess we’ll see where the recruiting class’s loyalties lie…
The recruiting class loyalists lie with Dr.Lynn and his NIL checkbook. I’ve heard every 4 or 5 star kid that makes to UL in the spring gets a check for 100K. Also probably helps the QB out of California dad is a Addidas Rep.

There is no loyalties to anything but money for these kids and their parents….take a look at the portal every year.

That has been the word that I’ve heard consistently as well though there’s been massive pushback from the Satterfield crowd. I guess we’ll now find out who was right…

Things are definitely weird these days at UofL. Most of the major sports teams are in some kind of uproar and with the news that Scott Satterfield is leaving, football has suddenly joined the group.

You know Satterfield must have been itching to leave when he has the best recruiting class in Louisville football history lined up. His team turned it around and actually got ranked in the playoff ranking two weeks ago.

Maybe he saw the writing on the wall? Maybe he has been told that Jeff Brohm wants to return? In any case, taking the Cincinnati job definitely came out of nowhere and I suspect some of those recruits may follow him there.

If Louisville doesn't hire Brohm this time, they better get a big name or someone who's in demand or this program will join the hoops teams in the Twilight Zone.

And the fanbase will be in a even bigger uproar.

So, bowl game….which locker room does he give his pregame speech to? Does he shake his own hand at midfield after the game? Does he get a bowl victory ring if either team wins? SO many questions. 🤷‍♂️

Youre killing it lately Steelers 🤣

Seems a lot of the bowl game questions have been answered. Apparently, Satterfield told NO ONE he was leaving before the players, and even assistant coaches, found out on social media. He eventually did a zoom call to the team after it became common knowledge. He is DONE as far as any connection to UofL as of today. To be clear, I don’t think anyone would fault Satterfield for leaving, before he was fired; but to leave before the bowl game, and without speaking to your players and coaches, is some Bobby Petrino/Atlanta Falcons no class bullshit.

So can I assume that you won't want Brohm if he leaves Purdue before the bowl game? If so that's fine, but please make sure to tell him now so he sticks it out with us ;)

All kidding aside, every coach who is going to leave needs to do so before bowl games. Waiting until after just puts them too far behind with the portal, recruiting, etc.

All kidding aside, it's not when but how.

I agree.

Brohm wants to be at UofL. I can't blame him for that. I think he will do well there.
He'll get to be a great football coach at his alma mater, and likely should retire before the ACC is relegated to irrelevance ;)

I hope you all make the most of his time with you guys. Get out there and fill the seats.

We've enjoyed having him. He had some really great wins and made Purdue relevant again. He can do the same for UofL and likely will end up with a better win percentage at UofL than he has at Purdue

IF Brohm is interviewed by UofL, before their bowl game (not vs Louisville), I would hope/expect him to request permission from Purdue’s AD first. And IF Brohm wanted to accept the job offer, I would hope/expect him to meet with the Purdue team and staff before the news became common knowledge. At that point, I think Purdue fans could/would wish him well, and Louisville fans would feel like he would never leave Louisville in the same manner Satterfield is leaving now,

I do think part of Satterfield’s problem with the fan base was trust. You can tell when a person generally lacks character and we now can see Satt with his mask off. When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them. (MA).

I'm already wishing him well, and none of that has happened ;)

I've accepted the reality of this situation.

Has a coach ever accepted a job from one university, which is about to play the coach's previous university in a bowl game?

That has to be a first doesn't it?

Great line about shaking his own hand after the game....Classic!!!

I want a current head coach with big program experience that has improved his current program immensely, a guy who will inject enthusiasm back into our program. A guy that had his team in the conference championship game this year fits that bill nicely.

Tom Allen didn’t make the B1G Championship game this year, but other than that, he meets all your criteria- great choice !!

My eldest grandson suggests he grab a megaphone and coach both teams from atop the Green Monster LOL.

Actually wouldn’t be that hard to do. Apparently, both teams are on the same side of the field in the Fenway Park setup. That should make for some interesting sideline chatter back and forth. 😏
