You might as well start working on it at this point. It’s will help 2 things to go ahead and get it done now.
1. Stop the negative media attention we get for Satt being on the “hot seat”
2. Will help finish off this recruiting class and get active in the transfer portal.
The way the team has rallied has been inspirational. With a top 20 class coming in and obvious improvement from where he inherited the program he deserves at least a short extension of 3 years. We were 10 points away from being 7-1 right now. I know that’s not what we are and the BC lost was inexcusable.... but we are in fact going the right direction.

No question there has been an encouraging turnaround since the BC loss but, any talk of extending Satterfield is incredibly premature. Should the team go 3-1 in their final four games or, 2-2 with a win over either Clemson or the yuts, it might be warranted but to do it right now - would be silly.

We are going to be favored in at minimum 2 of our last 4 games. Might even be favored agains Kentucky as crazy as that sounds. Levis is just not that good. You need to beat NCSt and JMU. You don’t fire a coach 7-5 with a top 20 recruiting class. Even 6-6 you shouldn’t fire him right now. Stability is important.

He has another year on his current contract. One more win and he gets to coach that year.

Next step is figuring out how to get fans back in the stadium.

Not yet.
Cant look past JMU.
NC st is without Leary , however the Cards always make a backup into a first round pick.
Even though SuCkS is getting prison smashed tonight, they somehow turn into the 89' 49ers against UofL.
Still need to beat Clemson at some point. Should have beat them last year.
Theres also the question is does Satterfield really want to be here.......
Great win, just not enough to ink any extensions yet.

it's been so fun to watch our football team. i'm loving this defense.

why so few fans? 39k is good but should be a full house.

I’d assume he wants to stay here considering he is almost done building his house. If he left he’d lose his ass on that house and wherever he ends up the mortgage rates are now 7%. Not sure if that even crosses his mind but it would cross mine. Also I don’t think he would leave. Where would he go? Would they have the same NIL Opportunities we have here? Probably not.

We were favored against BC and were basically in pick ‘‘em games in the other two losses. Hopefully the momentum continues however it’s more likely that we go 1-3 the last 4 than 3-1. Plenty of time to extend his contract after the season.

Levis is perhaps overrated but the yuts have beaten UofL with Lynn Bowden at QB.

I think the most likely outcome is 2-2. In which you are 7-5 playing for a chance at 8-5 with our hardest schedule possibly ever? Stack that with a top 20 recruiting class and that buys you more time.

I don’t believe Satterfield is either responsible for or, his continued tenure required - for the class to stay together.

What we are learning is college football is week to week. On any week you can get beat. We really don’t understand how much preparation, effort, energy and luck it takes to win week to week. They are college athletes not pro’s.

I have no idea how they will finish up but this could be the moment when it all starts clicking. Whatever adjustments they made on defense since BC has worked. They are pressuring while playing really good coverage. There are very few blow coverages.

Next week is a trap I hope they stay locked in.

James Madison lost their last two games giving up 10 sacks and committed 9 turnovers against Georgia Southern and Marshall.

Cards would have to be daydreaming next week if they don't do the same.

If this defensive performance continues and that doesn't mean forcing 5 turnovers in a quarter, the Cards can or will defeat Clemson or UK.

That's a big if but there's no doubt the Cards are dialed in at the toughest part of the schedule. If we can stay away from the BS with officials and replays, we could definitely win out.

Imagine that. 9 and 3. Satterfield could win ACC coach of the year. Or finish 2nd behind Mack Brown?

And I wonder how close Louisville will be to being ranked tomorrow? It's super rare to go from not receiving votes to being in the top 25, but it has happened. Of course that's for teams like Notre Dame and Texas.

Cards have won three games in a roll, mostly with a stand out defense, against 3 of the top level QB's in the ACC. They absolutely demolished the 10th ranked team.

Wouldn't it be a trip if come tomorrow it's the Cards who are ranked and UK the unranked? You would have been sent to a padded cell if you predicted that just 3 weeks ago.

And last but not least, the recruiting class isn't going anywhere and in fact, a couple more 4 stars commit.

I’ve always loved the offensive juggernaut we were with John L. and Bobby 1.0. Never wanted us to be a B1G defensive minded team. That said, this UL defense is developing an assassin-like personality that I love. They aren’t out to stop this or stop that, they are out to embarrass the other team as they did today. Sam Hartman is legit and the D D-Cons are a good team. What our D did to them today was awe inspiring!! If this team embraces this new personality they can play with anyone. Hartman is much better than Levis and Wake is way better than the yuts. I actually love our chances against JMU and NC St, and feel we have a least a puncher’s chance against Clemson. Then let’s do a “Rocky Top” to finish the season!

This team has shown continues improvement since UVA. To put the mark on beating Clemson is ridiculous. With the 8th toughest schedule 6-6 was going to be good 7-5 pretty darn good. Don’t know about an extension but things are definitely trending. That wasn’t just a win yesterday that was a historical beat down. That D which we thought was left for dead has made great progress. I’ve said this was a 5-6 year rebuild. Looks like they’re on track. If this continues better find some money for Satt or someone else will!

I’m not putting the mark on beating Clemson, I’m simply saying that despite the uptick, he’s still has a sub .500 record in conference and considering extending or giving him a raise at this point - is patently absurd. Let’s first see how the remainder of the season plays out and then if the recruiting class stays together. All goes well with that - then the conversation would make more sense.

And honestly, you really think that there’s another P5 program out there licking their chops over him at this point? 😂

Out of your mind to extend him until the end of the season. Keep him hungry that's when he does his best. When he has success he gets comfortable and loses his edge.

Let's keep it rolling the extension will come..

Coaches recruit players. When coaches leave, many players decommit. That’s just the way it works. There are hundreds of examples. You won’t lose everyone but to think you will keep every player is unrealistic.

Never said every player - but based on the situation with other Clarksons - and let’s not kid ourselves - Pierce has been the lead recruiter on those other 4/5* players, the evidence suggests that they will stay together provided the opportunity to come in and start right away remains.

When Pierce committed, he specifically stated his relationship with Satterfield and the coaching staff as his reason for choosing Louisville. (See ESPN link below). Fire Satterfield and you risk losing Pierce and all those 4 and 5 stars you say he is recruiting. The relationships between recruits and coaches can not be overstated. Firing Satterfield would blow up the 2023 recruiting class and set our program back at least two years.

No one is going to go to a school where they hate the head coach. So yes they obviously like him. I was told he’d probably stick regardless from someone out here in LA close to the situation. Don’t get it twisted they are getting a bag. They’d also really like it for the whole staff to be in tact

I too questions Clarkson commitment, but from all indications it was founded on a relationship with Satterfield.
Play one game at a time; beat JMU!

Keeping Malik, Hudson, Evans and this rest of this roster healthy should result in additional improvement each game.

Let’s see how each week goes but if the defense continues to play this way they will be in every game.

I've said all year that he really needs to go at least 8-4 to keep his job, but I was willing to give him 7-5 because of the 2023 recruiting class. I'm feeling much better about things but the BC loss was only a few weeks ago and there are still games to be played.
