I just read where the Sacramento Kings are going to go after Calipari again and they say they are going to make an offer he can't refuse. He will be offered part ownership and have the freedom to hand pick his own players, along with making a it of money.

I don't think there is any way Coach Calipari leaves his team at the beginning of the season.

When I read the article I got the impression they would wait until the end of the season. The article was on the Internet Explorer MSN and it was written by Steve DelVecchio. The article stated that Kings owner Vivek Ranadive's " biggest dream " is to hire Calipari as his next head coach.

Thats why he and Divac didnt trade thuggins.

Everyone in the Kings personnel said, dump the clown.

Crapiperi wants to tie or pass Coach Pitino in
Titles. The way he coaches, that will never happen.

So he'll leave for the money and power or the evidence about davis receiving 200k, resurfaces.

I don't think that WWWes will give him the ok to do that

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he actually did offer Calipari with some insane deal.

I personally don't think that matters to Calipari though. He's rich already, and he is currently a GOD in Lexington. He would give that up to become a part owner of the Sacramento Kings? I don't think so. He would be a smaller fish in a much bigger pond. He's not giving up his gravy train gig in Lexington. The worship he receives is much more important to him than whatever the Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé can offer.

I don't see that in this thread.I'm indifferent, could care less.

Do you really believe that or just wish it?
IMO, RP will make a move before Cal.

Not sure why and NBA would really want him that bad or really go out of there way to sign him to an insane deal. Cal would really be exploited as an NBA coach with equal talent all around the league.

I don't see where anyone said they want Cal to leave. I just posted about the article I saw and what was said in the article.

I don't care one way or the other. He can go, he can stay. I only see his fat mug once a year during games and that's when his team is playing the Cardinals.

Badly seems to be overstated. I would enjoy seeing it for the aftermath in big hillbilly nation. Cal would go back to being that cheating scumbag that yut fans knew him to be before they hired him. :)

Loved Cal before we hired him would love him after he leaves. I doubt with next years class he would leave, and if he wouldn't leave for the Cavs I doubt he would leave for the Kings

And Cal's 96 UMass team had 1 NBA player while Pitino's 96 Kentucky team had 10 NBA players. He managed to win once and only lose by 7 in the final four

You're in the minority with you're pre-yut opinion but really, who cares? Cal won't go to the nba because he's a terrible Xs & Os coach.

I think the only thing that would have Cal leaving for the NBA is if he thinks somethings amiss with violations. If it's been squeaky clean as UK fans insist it has been since he arrived, then I don't see Cal leaving UK anytime soon. If the rule changes that makes HS seniors eligible for the draft, that's the other thing that would have Cal leaving.

As it stands now, there's just no reason or incentive for Cal to leave UK. He's already coaching NBA players and if nothing changes with the rules, he can amass huge win totals and put him on the level with Coach K. If something gets in the way of that, he will be gone quicker than Usain Bolt.

Like he's "exploited" by going 3-0 against Self and 4-2 against Roy while at UK, both of whom also have burger boys off the bench every single year?

"Exploited" with his 1-1 record vs Coach K at UK including this recent 11 point victory (and K has had the last 2 number 1 recruiting classes)- how could an awful coach beat the GOAT when the latter has had been recruiting, if anything, better, the last two years?!?!?

"Exploited" like when he was one of two coaches to get a W against your guy Pitino when he was coaching one of the most talented CBB teams in history - the '96 wildcats - whom Cal split two games with, including winning by 10. How could an awful Xs and Os coach get a 10 point victory over the basketball genius Rick Pitino when Rick had one of the most talented rosters and greatest teams of all time?!?!?!? Rick had 9 NBA guys, Cal had 1. Cal got that victory with a roster featuring only 2 players who even had high major offers. That was in a run of 5 seasons averaging 30 wins per, making the tourney 5 years straight at one of the worst schools in the country, which had been to the NCAAs once in history - In 1962.

Leave aside ethical issues, just say he paid every single player, because no matter how compelling my case, I know you guys cherish that belief more dearly than your love for God and family - so say he bought them all with 100,000 bucks and a big bag of cocaine.

Would do nothing to change the empirical fact that just from an Xs and Os standpoint, he had an unbelievable mid major run, and like Brad Stevens, he did it with one borderline max contract NBA player and a bunch of guys you've never heard of.

And let's not even get into Cal 7 Rick 1. I already gave you plenty of examples with Cal having equal or lesser talent, so don't get off track with our current series where Cal always has more.

One factor not discussed - just like EVERY yut coach in the last 30 years - they reach a saturation point with Big Hillbilly Nation and they leave.

What evidence do you keep referring to? Please bring it forward. I hate cheating.

If you say so. Sacramento is about dumb enough to go for him.

But just think about it. He could be the first coach to lose in the NCAA tournament, turn around and finish the year coaching an NBA team with less talent than his college team.

I don't think this is likely to happen. Definitely not during the season.

But Calipari does have a huge ego. His last NBA run was mediocre at best. His ego may make him want to try the NBA again so he can prove to the world he is a great coach at the top level. Also, there is a lot more fame as a great NBA coach. There is more national fame and recognition with an NBA franchise.

In all likelihood, Cal will chase 1000, reach that level by the time he is 68 and retire. I really don't think he'll ever leave UK.

Jkwo, just dropped the mic, Fantastic post. HOFCJC can coach and might really help Sacramento. I think he will stick around Lexington and continue winning in a big way.

Who's Cal?

Its cow.

A two legged creature with vacated final fours at two universities. But wait it
gets better. He was able to play a young man who didnt pass algebra 1, yet
passed algebra 3. He was able to buy off 'evidence' of another player receiving
200K. Even has a player on this years team who had a High school CREATED
specifically for him.

If you dont think his recruiting practices are dirty, ask matty bangs.

Thats how u drop a mic.............

Not a mic drop because you flat out aren't correct. The 200k isn't even worth addressing because it never happened but also you have absolutely zero evidence. The part where you are really wrong ,and can be proven with fact, is that there was absolutely never any high school created for Skal. He went to one of the best academic high schools in Memphis. There was a basketball team created for him since he was ineligible because of transfer rules.

He attended Memphis' Lausanne Collegiate School for academics and played for his guardians made up school. That why he couldn't play in any of the all-star games
