I root for Matz hard, but it is clear that he should be at Murry State, or K-State.

Does Ricky P send him on his way this summer and fill the roster spot?

We took the hit on the 2 scholarships this season. We have one guy sitting out for a year that is a stud.

Question is, If Matz is moved, how many scholarships would be unaccounted for, and do you think Pitino would go after a solid player, or reward a walkon?

Funny that no one has addressed the roster concern. People here know everything so i figured the 3 amigos would yeild at least 1 solid answer

I'm definitely not 100% but I'll give a shot to answer the answer. I believe if that were to occur we would open up a scholarship, so we would probably look for a grad transfer with it as we wouldn't want to impact our scholarship count for years down the line. The other aspect is if DM goes pro, which could definitely happen, this would open up a scholarship as well.

Apparently it's only a concern for you. Most of us (not all) know that what we say on these boards is pure speculation and opinion. Most of us (not all) understand that just because we make our speculated opinions available for all to view, it does not mean it will become a fact. My opinion is Matt is at UofL until he graduates. I do not see him leaving now unless he decides he wants to leave.

I will now 'yield' to you so you're able to sprinkle some magic fairy dust on a speculated opinion and make it a fact. :D

I love ya B!!

Matz not good enough to play at Louisville is fact.

Honestly we could have a run and possibly 3 players leave. (POSSIBLY PEOPLE POSSIBLY)
DM
Deng
And VJ

Really depends on how the games turn out. Most successful teams need a 3 headed monster. I hope that these three pick it up and have a run that lands them all in the 1st round.

. . . damn, who's sitting?

I think he has the tools to play at a high level, but he either doesn't get the game or lacks confidence. He moves well, can handle the ball a bit, and while a bit mechanical, he's coordinated. I think it's possible Ricks approach doesn't work for him as well. This may be blasphemy, but, for example, Self has a history of turning tall white guys into players. His recruiting has turned more into the Cal model so we don't see it anymore, but he hasn't been more successful with this approach either.

I will agree that the version that we've seen of late is not UofL caliber but, I think the kid has (had?) more upside than we're seeing. He obviously has talent as evidenced by the Purdue game. Beating a dead horse but the kid was done a major disservice by RP by not being redshirted his freshman year. Handled properly, he could have been a similar player to the Salt kid on UVA - a good solid addition to the rotation. Oh well...

I agree. If VJ has a strong finish to the season, then it is very possible we end up losing 3 early. He's been coming on as of late and his defensive posturing is improving. I think Mitchell is all but gone, and I wouldn't be shocked if Adel throws his name in the draft too.

I think adel would go undrafted at this point. Ball handling skills are atrocious and scoring is suspect. His defense is very solid though. One more year is necessary IMO.

True. His dribbling is a serious weakness right now for a 3, and they'll want to move him to a 2G at the next level.

Crazier things have happened but the talk of Adel going early is borderline insane. He is no more ready for the NBA than Tyler Sharpe is (sarcasm).

Adel is making Pitino look silly with his "highest UofL draft pick of my time" comment. Adel literally can't dribble standing straight up. I like a lot of the things Adel does out there, but my a** puckers up every time he takes it into traffic. Looking at some of the names in the 2nd round, I don't know how you would take any of them out for Adel.

Mitchell is going to be in a very similar position as a guy like Grayson Allen last year. Tweener combo guard projected end of the 1st round, but no chance to prove he can play the point in college. I wouldn't blame him for going, but hopefully that's the result of a trip to the Final Four.

Adel has a ton of potential but he needs serious work on his handle. 100% agree. His defense is very good. He has great length and decent athleticism. His jump shot is decent when he gets some arch on it. His handle is bad though. Junior HS bad.
