Penn State had a similar story when Josiah Viera past away on Christmas Eve. There was a E60 story about him. It will break your heart.

It is good that these football programs “shine” the light on these kids to inspire more research to find answers to these diseases. RIP.

It’s easy to say “it’s just a game” but when you hear stories like Tyler’s, who was able to find something to believe in instead of dwelling on their own issues, it makes you stop and wonder. Purdue football was his life and I’m glad that he was able to be a part of that in the time that God gave him. RIP Tyler and prayers to his family!

Tyler had a letter/story on the editorial page of the CJ (I know. Most don't subscribe) Saturday the 29th titled:

"As I Face My Last Days, Why I Am Grateful"

The kid was dying, but was still found things to be grateful.

There's a lesson there.
