Minnesota has parted ways with head coach Richard Pitino, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.

The Golden Gophers went 14-15 and finished in 13th place in the Big Ten this season after a strong start. This marked the program’s second consecutive sub-.500 season.

My son lives in Albuquerque NM and told me the local media there is saying that the Lobos of UNM have some interest in him. Go figure. I will believe it when I see it.

Good for Richard. Maybe a change of environment will be good for him. I don’t harbor any grudges against him.

We will see how he performs in the land of Enchantment. For his sake, I hope he enchants that poor roster he inherits to levels of success he did not show at U Minn.

The Lobo fans are just as rabid as Cardinal fans are about their team. They don't call their arena the 'PIT' for no reason.

During the 6 years I lived in Albuquerque, I experienced many a game down their among those Lobo crazies. Great environment to watch a game. FUN!!!
