Your comments in another thread, "Maybe Coach should PLAY smarter rather than PRAYING harder." I had a day to think about how I wanted to respond. You obviously aren't a man of faith and have no understanding or empathy for a man who just experienced a significant professional and personal defeat/loss. To attack his coaching ability is one thing, but to attack is Christian faith is totally out of line.
In my opinion, your comment is a personal attack on Coach McDonnell's Christianity and faith in God. Unfortunately, many people of faith, to include me, allow attacks such as yours to be brushed aside. However, I felt strong enough about your insensitivity that I had to say something. Whether others on this board believe I have reason to respond, is truly irrelevant.
I can only forgive you for your insult to a Christian man of faith as it not only applies to Coach, but to other Christians. To use a message board to shield you so you may throw out personal insults is cowardly. Take your thoughts to Coach McDonnell personally and share with him that he spends too much time in prayer and other faith-related activities and you believe his lack of attention to his team and coaching craft contributed to the loss of the game and ultimately ending the season.
I feel confident that he would have compassion and forgiveness toward your insult and personal attack, because that's what true men of character and faith do. I can only hope that you have the opportunity to hear of the importance of "Loving God and Loving Others," as it appears you haven't heard it or aren't living it in this instance.
To God be the glory.
