Normally I would agree, but things aren't even close to being normal today. I expect him to bash the program and those who run it tonight. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.Bilas came to CRP defense when it first was announced last fall. Curious to see how he feels about the ban. One things for sure he won't trash us he's not like that.
I don't think he'll go after Rick, it was obvious Rick didn't initially agree with the ban. And behind the scene he probably still doesn't . But between Friday and Saturday they closed the wagons. I hope your wrong but who knows. Will see tonight.Normally I would agree, but things aren't even close to being normal today. I expect him to bash the program and those who run it tonight. I have always been a Jay Bilas fan so believe me when I say I want to be wrong. He always seems to at least attempt to be fair with his personal opinions on issues and explains why he feels the way he does. I don't always agree with his point of view, but at least I can respect him for his honesty. Yet to be seen if I'll agree with his opinion on this matter or not. Omega - you might as well leave the board as well because if you don't want to follow football, basketball, baseball or any other NCAA sport, there is nothing you can contribute here. Peace.
I have to watch it Omega. I love my Cardinals. I can't help that and I won't turn my back on them for any reason. I cheer and celebrate with them when they win, and I live and feel the anguish they feel when they lose. How can I walk away from that?
I don't about some of you all, but I'll be watching to support the team into winning, not for support of the NCAA.
I can't turn my back on the program because of who broadcasts the games. Not even for 2 minutes, much less for 2 years. Also, I can't just buy tickets and go because of one main reason. I'm not independently wealthy enough to become a groupie and follow the team around. I wish I could. Maybe one day.I get what you're saying...but you could be hurting the Cards further by watching. When you watch this junk, you're supporting the ones who are attacking us. The "goofy" network already paid the Cards in hopes fans like us would tune-in to their production pageantry. They'll never change unless fans make a stand.
If you buy tickets and just go to their games, you only support the Cards.
Would abstaining 2 years be worth returning the game back to a real sport?
If you watch tonight you'll support ESPN and NCAA more than you ever will the Cards. I think it would be great for all Card fans to turn off the TV tonight. They'll see those numbers (or lack of ) for sure. Listen to it on the radio.
By the way expect Bilas to rail against the NCAA and the ridiculous notion of self-imposed penalties.
Problem with your logic is that the networks (ESPN) will contribute it to us protesting the universities decision and not the network. They unfortunately have the final word since their behind the cameras. Hopefully enough pressure can get behind the idea that we punished the school, coaches, and players involved. And not players that had nothing to do with the issue. If you watch tonight you'll support ESPN and NCAA more than you ever will the Cards. Louisville has played at Cameron but not since 1982 and before the Crazies existed. We are actually 1-1 there.
