I looked at our rebounding in the games we have struggled in lately and that seems to be the key to our success or failure. We were out rebounded by Pitt they had 12 more rebounds than us. We were out rebounded by UNC as well. We did a good job of rebounding against VaTech.
One thing for sure is we can’t blame our rebounding woes on Emily. She has been a monster on the boards but Olivia and Liz need to do better. HVL is holding her ground on rebounding as well considering she is a guard. You figure Pitt had 12 more rebounds that could add up to 24 points for you or against you.

I hate to say it but rebounding woes are on Cochran and Dixon. They both wait to see where the ball is going before moving. They don't anticipate like Emily does and that's why they don't rebound against better rebounding teams.

It's been a problem for Walz at UofL. He cannot seem to recruit a 6'4 or taller athlete that dominants down low. I know there's not a lot to choose from but it's in my opinion why Walz hasn't cut down the nets yet.

This has been discussed before. Right of wrong - the scheme seems to be for our 5 to block out #1. Then this allows others to come in a scoop up rebounds. Not saying I agree or disagree either. I also believe we must have consistent rebounding production from the 5. First block out and then go get the ball. HVL rebounds, Kasa rebounds. How many rebounds do you see Kiana get…she is technically our 3. Previously we were a bit spoiled in that our 3 was an athletic 6’0” Jazz Jones - physical and athletic.

All I know is that if we rebound strong we end up winning and looking good while we’re doing it. If we don’t have a good rebounding game we are in jeopardy.

That is why we have only lost 3 games but if you look at the games we have lost or were close it was because our rebounding in those games were lacking.
