The offensive play calling of the Ravens is head scratching to say the least. Despite having several great offensive players, they're simply not consistent with the plays.

I know their defense, mostly the secondary, has been used and abused, but if the offense was consistently moving the ball and scoring TD's instead of taking FG's, they wouldn't have all these losses.

All of this is strikingly familiar with Louisville football this season.

Not a fan of defensive play calling. Professional athletes should not be playing a wait and see zone allowing over the middle drags and slants, nor stretch runs with little to no one but one to defend. Linebackers are not the aggressive, mean type.

There is no place in today’s wussiball for aggressive, mean LB’s.

Someone could be injured 🤕
🙄🤔😳🤣🤣🤣

Ravens loss was about its inability to match the strength of the Eagles on both sides of the LOS. Tucker missing 2 FGs and one extra point, combined with a WR dropping a perfectly thrown Jackson pass going out of bounds at the 3 yard line explains the loss; it was not about play calling, its lack of execution.

The Ravens have the number 1 offense in the freaking NFL. The Eagles have a terrific defense. Good defenses more times than not slow down good offenses. The Eagles shut down the Bengals too and they score on everyone.

I disagree with your opinion. Offenses need to be efficient but none are perfect. Playing calling from a coaches perspective is every play will be successful. The idea that when a play doesn’t work it is always a bad call is crazy. No, the defense made a play. Or in some cases the defense is just better.

Andy Reed maybe the best player caller ever but he has a QB that executes at a ridiculous level. Even then they don’t control every game.

Every play call that is blown up a player missed an assignment or missed a throw. Good example Shough misses Brown on a simple wheel route in 1st half. Perfect play didn’t execute. Shough makes a perfect throw to Bruce that is a TD Bruce drops the ball. Perfect play call. That is 14 points in the 1st half that where play calling was perfect but resulted in 3 points. A play I didn’t like was the reverse to Bell. They blew up but it was basically the same play Texas ran a couple weeks ago for a TD. Good concept bad execution. Good play by their defense.

honestly, they screwed last year up by trying to bring back mark andrews to quick and forced him into the lineup and tried to give him the ball instead of likely. same thing happening this year, getting the ball to andrews is actually tightening up the offense. but the reality is two things, lamar keeps choking under pressure in that he constantly fumbles or drops the shotgun snap. i'm his biggest fan and no way he'll ever win a SB becasue he brain farts in pressure situations. oyu can go all the back to last uk game when he fumbles at the 5. yesterday, up 9-0, he had a wide open receiver w/ no one within 10 yards and would have been a td and he blew that easy throw then he fumbles the next snap and they're in 3-19. they don;t make it and philly scores two str4aight td's. they should have been up 16-0 but lamar choked. and in every big game he has a fumble he just gets some back. it's like watching Farve, he was great but you always knew he was going to screw up. lamar is always going to fumble or make a dumb play.

and lastly, they will never win with tucker as their kicker. he's lost it. like vanderjact of the old colts who could hit everything then he missed on vs pittsburg and he never was good again. if you look at all the ravens loses, i believe tucker has cost them 4 games because he failed to do his job at even a 75% rate. he cost them 7 points last night. that's the ball game. btu until lamar learns to concentrate 100% of the game, there's always the high chance he's going to brain fart and turn the ball over. and being a huge fan, it's gut wrenching to constantly see. he's so great in e very other area and could be the greatest qb in history, but will prolly end up like marino, the best who never won. i truly hope not, but until he adapts, he's got that huge fumbling/brain fart problem

I won't say they will never win again with Tucker. He's won more than he's lost but yes, he could have won the Pittsburgh game and last night against the Eagles. However, I think a large part of it is the Ravens have so much confidence in it, they think all they have to do is make the other teams 45 yard line instead of going for TDs. Thats on Harbaugh.

LJ has to take what the D gives him. He looked great early, then confused after the Eagles adjusted. The running lanes were there all night after the passing ones weren't.
It's a chess match

Don't mix college and NFL, two different levels of players.

Do you even like U of L sports?

he's missing short kicks and extra points. it's his history that's keeping him on the team o/w he would have been cut already. but like the stock market, past performance w/ kickers is no indication of future results.

i love u of l sports so much it makes me sick to my stomach and i want to vomit when we lose 5 straight years to uk in football, when we lose to 2nd and 3rd string qb's, when we lose to uk in any sports, and when we lose to teams like stanford that cost us a title shot because our new coach has a long history of choking against unranked, undermanned, losing teams. i'm not a fanactic who believes the bs coming out of coaches mouths. i speak the truth, i give data backed facts. and i am one of the very few who said why thef%ck are we hiring a bball coach named kenny payne, what has he ever done? i deal with facts and reality so no, i am not a fan-atic. i have common sense and use it. you obviously don't and are a true fan. that's nto something i ever aspire to be. but good for you.

We just disagree on this and Louisville and that's fine. I've watched almost every Raven game this season and the play calling has not been consistent. If not for Lamar's magic, a lot of successful plays would have had negative results.

I’ve watched most of them too and think they are candidates to lose any game…or win any game.

There is no consistency to me.

Hes 19-27 in FGs and his 8 misses have been beyond 40 yards. His 70.4% is one of the league's worst. He has also missed 2 extra points this year.

Exactly. They don't seem to stick with what works a lot of the time, plus they don't make enough effort to feed the studs like Flowers and Andrews.

I think some of the time Lamar goes away from the play call too soon which is his thing. The undisciplined penalties also hurt the Ravens.

The loss to the Eagles yesterday was frustrating as several times on 3rd down the play call was in my opinion not the idea call to get the 1st down. In the 1st half they just seemed to be too casual about maintaining the drives.

They have now lost 5 games and are no real threat to get to the super bowl unless Lamar plays like Superman.

I think all the time how much better it would be for Lamar if he had went somewhere else than Baltimore. Just imagine him at Detroit or Miami and all the skill players there.

Lamar is in the perfect place for him! Detroit & Miami would have different personnel with Lamar to build around.

I have been a Lamar fan since day 1. He's been a good fit for the Ravens and has got them on the doorstep but IMHO they have given him everything he said he needed, first Flowers the receiver, and now a stud RB in Henry. They have had a stud defense the entire time hes been there (they are down this year with a new DC) and still can't seem to finish the deal. Football players have a very short window, they need to figure it out.

They need better OLine play

-Tucker is clearly in decline after being one of the best of all time and he has cost them first place in their division
-The damn PENALTIES drive me crazy
-the Ravens defense is bad, their pass defense is really bad and they can't get stops at the end of a game.
-Lamar needs to play his best in big games and he hasn't done that. (don't yell at me, I love 8)
-i feel like the great DC's in the NFL like Fangio/Phil. and Spagnuolo/KC know how to defend the Ravens.
-Lamar continues to improve on his weaknesses, I wouldn't count him out for eventually winning a SB.

Just for clarification; my comments were not about the Ravens coaching and play calling over the course of this season; my comments were confined to only what I witnessed in the Ravens loss Sunday to the Eagles. There were several critical opportunities where both the Ravens OL and their DL respectively failed to control the LOS; either when needing to sustain an offensive series, or stop the Eagles defensively.

Isn't that what usually determines the better team? I'm just saying how many pieces does it take for Lamar to take them to the top? Last year they had the home field advantage in the AFC and still managed to lose.

He has to play great for the majority of the 60 minutes against Philly caliber teams and he's just not done it. His focus against teams trying to make him uncomfortable is erratic. He was not on point when that defense adjusted.
Btw,love 8 too.
