First and foremost, thank you Wayne and Montrezl, last members of the 2013 National Championship team. I never got too down on Wayne, despite the lofty expectations. It's never really been spoken of enough, but it was pretty obvious the injuries took a toll on him. During his freshman and sophomore years, he would play like he was scared to get hurt again. That plays all kind of tricks with your confidence and overall mental game. I got nothing but love for him. As for Montrezl, forget Marshawn Lynch. Harrell carries the Beast Mode moniker like he invented it.
My expectations for the season have already been exceeded. I thought this team was destined for 10 losses. Most they can lose now is 9.
I heard Demling moments ago say the Cards' 24-7 record is the 15th best start in Louisville history. Can that be right?
I hate it for Murray State. I hope Belmont meets an early, ugly demise, the bastards.
Harrell 2nd team All ACC? Whatevs.
The Michigan State/IU game was pretty darn entertaining. IU doesn't play a lick of defense. Not sure if that's by design or if they just aren't any good at it. I'm on the fence about Crean keeping his job. He should have IU rolling by now, but I know he's a good coach. If IU misses out on the NCAAT, my guess is he's toast.
I've said it before, but Wichita State's undefeated 2014 regular season is being totally overshadowed and ignored in light of UK's undefeated season. St. Joseph's 2004 undefeated season, too. A team going unbeaten has now happened 3 times in 11 years. Let's stop acting like it's unheard of. I saw Yahoo's lead story headline about UK go from "First time in 30 years college team goes undefeated" to "First time a Power 5 school goes undefeated in 30 years." Dumb dorks.
Mangok, to quote the band Filter, "that's why I say hey man, nice shot. Good shot, man." That song is totally not basketball related, however.
Great win on Saturday. Good luck, Cards, the rest of the way.
