Ramey to Texas

Please tell me you arent listening to Jason Anderson. Him and Pat Forde. Golly. The dinner was tonight from what Terrell said last night on LSL. No one knows, yet. He really had a great visit though and loves UofL. Doesnt mean we will win out but that has to be a plus.

If we miss on Ramey we are looking at wasting a couple years of basketball from the upcoming sophomore class. Those guys were talented, but it looks like they won’t have any help in their sophomore year and many of them will bolt to the draft I’d imagine. Just being a pessimist here, but very worried about the future if we can’t get anyone in this class.

It's way too early to project where a guy will be in 2 years. That said, I like that Soph class too but I don't think you're going to see multiple guys turning pro after the season. None of them are really on a draft board radar.

If Ramey is going to Texas it is not big news too them because there is no mention of him anywhere on their site.

Mizzou just filled their last scholly for the season with an Evansville transfer I believe.

Yeah I went on one of Texas’ boards and the Ramey thread literally has 3 replies, 3 days ago.

It IS Texas. His father posted an announcement video on Twitter about 30 minutes ago.

We face an uncertain and steep ascent back into the place we're used to being in,as others use our troubles against us.
It is what it is. Soldier on...

If we continue to struggle with recruiting in spite of our great tradition and facilities, you can blame the Adidas millstone that Pitino and Jurich hung around our neck.

Don’t think it’s hurt Kansas...
True, but so far, at least, no one in the program has been directly linked to the payouts. I have posted this before, I still think it would be better for UL to sit down with the NCAA and work out a reasonable sanction regarding the Bowen situation. I know some here don't think any penalties are coming but its pretty clear recruits do. You need to get that monkey off your back asap.

So Kansas gets the majority of the top Adidas guys who represent a very small portion of the class. Having no access to the vast majority of the top recruits has killed our recruiting for a long time and even Pitino, who caused it to happen, was frustrated losing so many players to Nike. What we get from Adidas is not that much more than we could have gotten from Nike but this was Pitino's deal from the start. Just another way he sucked up money at our expense.

You mean other coaches are convincing them of that. Nearly the same thing.

Mike Mcammon, your anti Pitino\ Jurich stichk is getting a little old . Ever since you raised you’re ugly little head on this site, you and your minions have degraded it on every level. We get that you didn’t like Juruch and CRP must have beat you up at some time, but stop being a clown. You should ban me, because I don’t agree with you . All hail MM!!!!!!! Big man. Take this site down like ITV.

You have to consider the source. His buddy, Mike Hughes got his media pass revoked by Jurich, that's where the hate comes from.

Grow up. What have I said that isn't true? Also my perspective has nothing to do with like or dislike. Tom Jurich did many great things here but he also made many big mistakes and was a participant in bringing down our basketball program with his mismanagement of Pitino and he was linked to Ramsey's misguided use of money. Its time for you bitter followers of Pitino to let go and support the new coach and get the program back on track.

You mention Pitino in over half your posts. You are 75% in this thread.

You let go.
Pitino gets brought up because many of his followers refuse to acknowledge how he destroyed our program as they snipe at our new coach and through their resentment of those who fired him. Pitino was a disaster for us even though he should have been a fantastic hire. And it all falls on him even though Tom was somewhat complicit by allowing it to happen.

That is absolutely true. Anyone who followed Pitino at UK and here knows that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Pitino put UofL back into the Top 5/Top 10 programs in the country during his tenure. He inherited a 19 loss team that was competing in the CUSA.

That's a whole lot of drive.

What you are saying is not absolutely true, it is absolutely false, and a position only a hater of the guy would even try to introduce. I don't even think haters try to say what you're saying.

You're rewriting history for your anti Pitino agenda.

He came here with a ton of capital and an AD that gave him everything he wanted. Because of his negligence and lack of program control and foolish hires, he brought us one Final Four and disgraced our program after all the money we gave him. This has nothing to do with where the program was when Crum was fired. The new coach was supposed to return us to glory, not destroy us.

The endgame was bad he produced multiple FF and a title. If you want to say they didn't happen because of sanctions that's a gray area.

You say he didn't have drive. He probably wanted to win too much, had too much drive, and that's why he didn't run a clean program in the end, looked the other way at times, and had a banner and FF taken away.

Kind of hard to believe you haven't figured that out through your thorough investigation.

He also ran off countless talented players because he had so much drive - the problem with his drive is it always had to be his way unfortunately. He had plenty of faults, lack of drive wasn't one of those faults and it's false to suggest his drive was an issue. It can be argued his drive was his demise.

Because of his negligence

Again, if this is true, which it may be, it contradicts your statement that he didn't have the same drive he had while at UK. It supports his drive - he wanted to win so badly he was negligent.

So decide, was he negligent or wasn't he?

Guys that "cheat" or run unclean programs do it because they are driven to win. Get it?

In FB recruiting we moan and groan because kids don’t remember the Sugar Bowl, or Chris Redmon, or even now Teddy.

But BB recruits will know about this for “years and years”?

Everyday this gets farther out of their mind. And their parents.

No. Being negligent is perfectly consistent with not having the drive to be otherwise. His lack of oversight was just part of his lack of drive. That is basic English unless you don't really know what those words mean.

No. Those things are no longer part of the NCAA record book and therefore do not count and that is a shame because what we were penalized for did not help us win.

Placing the importance of winning over following rules is a basic concept.

Either he didn't have the drive he had at UK, or he was at the least negligent and wanted to win so badly he was willing to cheat or look the other way while at UofL.

You also have no idea how involved he was in the "oversight" while at UK either.

If he didn't have any drive, he wouldn't have offered ANY 5 star recruits, he would have just taken nothing but 3 star kids that did what he wanted and a few transfers to fill it out. He would have produced teams like Crum did in his late years.

This is a basic concept.

You can't have it both ways - you are wrong one way or the other. On the bright side, you could be right one way or the other.

More than likely you're just wrong altogether. Good job.
