If we want a quick turnaround for next season I say we hit the transfer portal. If the stars align and we got these 4 to add with Curry we'd be a top 5 team. How nasty would this starting 5 be...?

McGhee - Liberty (24.7pts/gm)
Davis - Detroit Mercy (avg. 23 had 27 on us)
Curry - Louisville (beast)
Broome - Morehead (stud, 4 blocks/gm)
Aimaq - Utah Valley (19 & 14/gm)

That was one of the problems with this year's team. Way too selfish because trying to showcase themselves, instead of playing like a team. That is why we had so few assists.

Nah, these are all studs leading the NCAA right now. None of our guys were top 5 guys in any category last year. BIG difference. Give them a little bit of coaching and you have a Scott Drew situation and Baylor last year.

Locke and Cross were single dimension (3 point shooters) players who failed to deliver on their one attribute here. West did not disappoint defensively, but he struggled offensively. Ellis has a lot of potential, but lacked fundamentals and was deprived of coaching once he arrived.

The portal makes this much more achievable for sure. I agree the back court needs a massive up grade. With NIL and pure playing opportunity they should be OK.

They have some guys that can play on the wing. Curry and Wheeler with the right coaching could improve quite a bit. Neither have any idea how to play defense.

The main thing is to get the coach in place and be ahead of the game in the portal.

The question is just how interested will members of the portal be in coming to a program that might be getting a post season ban.

Another question is can UofL secure a hire prior to the recruitment process of the portal being in full swing.

We probably also want to keep in mind stitching together a team didn't exactly work out this year. The returns on the portal are still in early stage but it's not like every player from the portal is making impact.

It would be interesting to see what that "hit" % overall was across the nation.

These 8 players I think will be Cards next season. I don't see why Cross, Williamson, Withers and Traynor would come back. Traynor may be back being a local kid.

Cards need at least three transfers. Two big forwards, not wing guys, and a point guard. O1f course it depends who the coach is.

I do think Skyy Clark decommitting from UK is an interesting move. If he’s uncommitted by the time the next coach is hired I would go for him.

I don't think Cross can transfer again, can he?

That is a pretty good team you have there. This year's team had enough talent to go to the NCAAT, the coaching just was not there put ducttape the thrown-together roster together. If that roster you have materializes I think that is an NCAAT-bound team in year 1 if we get a good coach.
