Purdue should be ashamed of themselves if they can’t beat this Nebraska team. The Huskers are awful and their QB couldn’t play for one of our better HS teams here in Louisville. Plus Nebraska has a horrible kicking game. Maybe Scott Frost should be on a hot seat. Purdue leads 14-13 about halfway thru the 3rd quarter.

I rooted against them as a student at Oklahoma State, when they used to crush us every year. But I always admired their hard-nosed style of play, the way recruits would wait 2-3 years just for a chance to play one as a starter, and the incredible loyalty of their fans. They lost their way when they fired Frank Solich who averaged 10 wins a year and then “modernized” the offense. They’ve never been the same.

And if you don’t “‘get it” that poodoo and uahkay, etc. are our recruiting enemies then you don’t really understand the reality of local recruiting. There is a lot of truth to your last sentence, but it doesn’t jive with your original sentence. This ain’t Miami or South Florida where there is so much talent to go around that it doesn’t really make that much difference. JB was using his name to get kids that THE UofL should have been going after. Unfortunately, Petrino was doing a horrible job of that and other schools were able to steal some of the kids that we didn’t show any interest in - now that is totally different because we have an outstanding staff that is going to make it known to those kids that we want them and that they should stay home.

If we continue to win it won't matter what Purdue does. We will be able to pick who we want from the local recruits. Uk will always get those out in the state but we should be able to dominate the city for the most part.

and the craziest thing of all is that they just gave Frost two more years on his contract after going 8-13 to start there. Imagine what Satterfield is worth then. btw, Coach Satts did get a $100k bonus for being bowl eligible. Hopefully he throws a party for his team, coaches and staff

zipp, totally agree and i'm not sure why anyone doesn't feel this same way. JB is a card for life. no one should hate on him for staying at purdue, but if you don't have a family, kids and a home, i could possibly see how you might think just uprooting your life is easy or walking into a dumpster fire would be fun or taking less money is worth it. also, why root against purdue when we never play them? fact is, while i wanted JB to come here, i truly believe we got the better proven coach. let's make sure we keep his entire staff around for awhile

You don’t get it, at all. The fact that JB didn’t come here isn’t the problem (and you should understand that). It’s the fact that he USED UofL to get more money from poodon’t. What that indicates is that he wasn’t sincere in the first place with his discussions with Vince Tyra about the UofL opening. That total lack of sincerity is the issue here. In fact, I’m happy when a UofL person betters themselves in their chosen field but don’t USE your alma mater to fatten your bank account by having bogus negotiations with your alma mater to do exactly that.

I loved JB too & the family. I loved watching him coach at WKU and made it a point to watch whenever they were playing. I watched him as Purdue coach and it wasn't good enough for me. Would I like the feel of one of our hometown boys being our coach some day? Yes,but last year was NOT the right time or the right fit.

I had visions of hometown boy losing many games at CS and fans booing him. Now hometown boy getting booed off the field would have been ugly. I was sick and tired of ugly last year at this time.

Personally I'm not a fan of some upper mgmt folks at UofL. But I'm a huge fan of CSS and coaches with what they have done in this 10 month time period. For once in the last 5 years, I'm feeling excited again about our accomplishments.

I'm sure this is true of many fanbases, but too many of our fans in this space take things way too personally. Which sets them up for major disappointment and emotional reactions.

It was widely recognized and mentioned that U of L would not be getting the "hometown discount" if/when Brohm returned to U of L. Anyone who thinks it came down to money and that Purdue offered more don't understand what "no hometown discount" means...
