Purdue chokes...

Yeah, I was a JB supporter until he shafted THE UofL and, now apparently, poodoo also. Oh well, their schedule isn’t very difficult this year so they’ll probably recover. No revenge minded tOSU.

They are looking at 6-6 again. Defense is his issue. Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin are all going to be good. While I understand why he stayed he completely misread the shift occurring in that Division in the Big Ten. That Division hired some really good coaches.

As long as he keeps Nick as his d Coord he will always have less than steller defenses.
I agree and that is the one thing that scared me about Brohm was his assistants. Coaching continuity is very important but sometimes you have to make the tough calls.

Satterfield didn’t bring the immediate enthusiasm from fans but I like the fact coaches want to work for him. I like he has a lot of good connections in the college football world. His assistants are the reason I think he will be successful at Louisville.

I said we might learn something in that game. 17 fourth quarter points?

I think we learned JB still hasn’t learned there’s two sides to the LOS.

BP2 maybe?

I hope we learn something better this week.

Poetic justice. Sure hope all those Purdoo fans who came here to gloat are still happy with their overpriced head coach.
I am. Purdue is still rebuilding. Super young this year. 7 upperclassmen on the 2 deeps. Good luck today!

Looks like the Ville got the right coach...
We won't know that for at least 2 or 3 years. FB takes time especially when your doing a complete rebuild as this is. Be patient Card fans this is going to take some time. 255 lb D linemen is not going to cut it. I feel Satterfeild will have to make some philosophical changes as he learns how these power 5 program players size and abilities are every week. If hes the coach they say he is adjusting should not be an issue with him.

It appears this poster (BoilerN) doesn’t know jack squat about when we play.

I just assumed you guys played today like most teams. I didn't actually single out to see when you play...

Plain and simple,
Turnovers:
Purdue - 5
Nevada - 0

Nobody not named Clemson is going to beat any FBS teams on the road losing the turnover battle 5-0.

Glad for the snarky Purdue fans but I wouldn’t read too much into this one game.

I mean, even a “young” Big 10+4 team should out perform a middle of the pack (at best) MWC team. On the road or at home.

Embarrassing loss for Brohm and West Lafayette Tech.
I mean, I'd argue they did outperform and show they were the better team for 3 quarters. Some boneheaded mistakes cost them the game. Purdue was the dominant team though.

I agree but not when your starting QB has a history of making poor decisions. As much as they rely on the passing game a QB that gives the ball away is a problem.

You still have to stop people too.

We have seen seasons where turnovers just don’t go away. They are season killers.

It is week one I don’t take much away other than who controlled the line of scrimmage. If your team got pushed around it is going to be a long year.

Shhhh....I think Auburn just scored again. ;)
I mean, Auburn was 10 times more talented than Purdue and Purdue was missing their too 3 defenders. Purdue never had a chance in that game. Also not sure what that game has to do with anything? Other then being a loss, it didn't hurt or set back the program in any way. Everyone knew Purdue was a 4 year rebuild. Louisville is probably in a better place as a program right now than Purdue when Brohm took over?

Also, I think Purdue and Louisville should get another game in Lucas Oil. That was a fun game. Beats the heck out of travelling across the country to open on the road...

I can’t speak for everyone but I really don’t care about Purdue. If I did, I’d be on your board running my big yapper.

It appears there are plenty on this board who do obsess over Purdue though. Maybe no you , but look at this thread.

As a Kentucky or Purdue fan, do you obsess about Louisville?
No. I only obsess about Purdue. I just like to follow the big ten and localish teams. So teams like Louisville and Notre Dame and Kentucky fall into that category. I wouldn't call me being over here having discussion obsessing.

And yes, I'm aware that wasn't a question to me. But I thought I'd answer it since I'm being lumped into someone that obsesses about Louisville.

Year 3, game 1 loss to Nevada. Hard to spin that but I see some people trying. Glad it's not our problem. I'm hoping for a better Year 3 opening performance for our new coach.
Trying to spin what? The reality that Purdue wasn't going to be rebuilt and competing for big ten titles in a couple years? Brohm inherited a team that won 9 games in 4 years with recruits that most p5 schools didn't want. You don't just turn that around in two years. Luckily, Brohm is recruiting at a top 25ish level, so once his guys get older, we will find out just how good Brohm is and determine if Purdue overpaid.

Do you live in Lex? You seem to be drinking the blue kool-aid type.
