I don't venture there much and won't bother linking it, but one of their precious fans made the claim that U of L is 2-17-1 against the "rest" of the SEC in a blatant and misguided attempt to deflect the attention away from our domination of their sorry asses. Obviously, there are two salient replies to this:
1-We've only played something like 5 SEC schools since 1985 other than UK. Notably, the wins include major bowl victories against Alabama in 91' and Florida in 2013. Off the top of my head, we lost to Auburn to open this year and closed Georgia last year in the Belk Bowl. I can remember at least two losses to Florida in the early to mid 90's while Schnellenberger was here and another couple of losses to UT in the same era. In short, we've had very few chances against top SEC teams, but have managed to scalp two of the SEC elite including one school UK hasn't beaten since the Carter administration.
2-Is there anything more pathetic than losing to you in-state rival for the fifth straight year after chirping all season about how "this is the year" only to crap the bed again and then make bogus claims about said rivals comparable ineptitude?
Perhaps the single most annoying thing about most UK football fans is their insistence that their program is on par with U of L's. This has been the case for years and probably always will be despite how many bowls we play in, how many times we beat them, or how many players we put into the NFL. They also blindly ignore the all-important element of third-party perspective. Louisville football, while not elite, is an established, respected and recognized program on the national stage. There is no program able to match the upward trajectory of ours since 1990. Not one. But Big Blew insists that the two programs are more like a pair of dim-witted cousins than the far more accurate analogy of a slow, dumb, unaccomplished older brother making disparaging comments about his younger, brighter, high-achieving sibling.
