Waited two years since our last post season. First year in ACC we get NC and get knocked out. NCAA free throw and put back away from final four maybe . 2nd year self imposed ban so nothing .W What do we get this year Duke and a one and done game we had a lead in only to lose it !. Another thing i noticed with this team all year thats not a good sign they are not closers what so ever. Give up leads entirely too much . NCAA games come down to holding leads closing out games usually by free throws.Especially the second round games and beyond. This team if i had to use my money would not be a solid pick if only just for those issues .

In retrospect, we might have been better off getting a lower seed in the ACC Tournament and maybe winning a game before exiting. I think this team is inexperienced and the more post-season action they get the better. That was DM's first ever post-season game. Hopefully the experience was enough to get him grounded for the even bigger stage ahead.

What didnt seem like anything, turned into a major game. The win at Wake Forest last week + the win vs Notre Dame would have locked us at the 2 seed in the ACCT. And I like our chances that we probably would be playing tonight in the championship game.

My only complaint I have is the free throw shooting because we have been bad all year and there has been no improvement. I would have them shoot free throws all week if it were me. If we would have hit our free throws we win by double digits.

One problem with the "make them shoot free throws until they drop" argument is that teams are limited in the amount of practice time they can have in a given week except during school breaks. The more time you spend shooting free throws in practice the less time you spend watching game film and working on plays and defenses. It is a tough balancing act. The kids can work on free throws on their own but they have to have the initiative to do that.
