Solution - whenever you see the word “preseason” just don’t put a lot of stock into it.I guess if the front page is correct, and that's what we're looking at - we can say it appears the program is moving in the right direction?

With the players we have coming back and the players we have coming in I think that is a fair ranking.
Texas Tech after finishing 6th overall last year predicted to finished 7th in preseason conference rankings, despite returning Culver, Francis, Odiase and Moretti to go along with transfers Mooney and Owens. Yes WVU was picked to finished 3rd.Depends on how you want to look at it for sure.
80% of the Pre Top 25 made the NCAA this year.
It's a gauge that national voters see a program, obviously projections are just that!
This year....
WVU biggest flop @ #13.
UVA #5
Mich St #10
Aub #11
Tech... 6 votes, unranked.
What might really hurt if Enoch does leave . It was said that Williams really doesn't like playing with his back to the basket he prefers to face up which suits his frame and skill set much better with Enoch gone that only leaves one freshman big. Williams would then have too play the 5 again. It's way too early, I probably should have waited but just thought an early poll was interesting.
Assuming Nwora and Enoch exit - there is still a better foundation returning for next year than last - combining that with a strong recruiting class I'd say they are in decent shape. I'd expect that preseason poll to be impacted by the decision those guys make.
2 returning starters Sutton and...with Williams being a potential break out season candidate if Enoch leaves.
Will be interesting to see if any grad transfers come this way, or if there is a transfer also.
I'm optimistic and I may be putting too much on Williams assuming he returns... but I kind of like the thought of him breaking out - combining his hustle to some stat production. The rebounds are already there, can he put on weight, avoid silly fouls, and work on his game? That could be the biggest key to next year.
They’re not first round NBA caliber talent and staying another year won’t change that. They'll last a year in the NBA and then end up in Europe playing for $150,000 per year. Not a bad salary for playing basket ball but not first round NBA money.
That latter part is precisely how these guys reason...They’re not first round NBA caliber talent and staying another year won’t change that.
The issue is Nwora and Enoch probably don't recognize that. Makes no difference if you're right--you likely are--or whether we all agree...I agree but if players like Terrence Williams and Earl Clark struggled and they were a lot better players then Nwora and Enoch have a long way to go to even have a chance.
Twill was a Senior so that’s not a good comparison. Earl was one that I was disappointed in because I thought he left early but he really never got much better. Both guys made their money from playing a game.I agree but if players like Terrence Williams and Earl Clark struggled and they were a lot better players then Nwora and Enoch have a long way to go to even have a chance.
