What the???

It sure contradicts this article

http://www.courier-journal.com/stor...er-at-louisville-basketball-parties/73610314/

Direct reference from the book:

Powell says in the book that her daughters were 15, 17 and 19 when they began working for her, eventually as prostitutes and escorts in some of the 22 parties she says basketball staffer Andre McGee paid for over four years.

Including a statement by one of the girl's father:

“It has me so upset,” said Moorman, who has three other children and works for a tank-cleaning service. “How could you do this to someone who is a minor?”

First things first, found the story about Powell's attorney on the TOS along with this jewel:

"Trash Can Larry"

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - Larry Wilder, the attorney for Jeffersonville's city council, has a lot of people wondering how he ended up asleep in a neighbor's trash can.

No one has any problems with Wilder's skills as the city council's attorney - he's lost only one case in 17 months on the job. But some people are now questioning his personal choices after a neighbor found him sleeping in his trash can early Tuesday morning.

That neighbor called 911 for help, and WAVE 3 obtained a transcript of the call:

DISPATCHER:Jeffersonville police.

CALLER:I've got a ... and don't laugh ... I've got a man halfway in my garbage can, the garbage is turned over and there's man in it ... laying in it. I don't know if he's drunk or what.

DISPATCHER:OK.

DISPATCHER:He's going to start for 3503 Elk Pointe Boulevard. There's a subject in this guy's trash can, he's drunk and he's half in and half out.

DISPATCHER:Did you put him in the trash can sir?

CALLER:No Ma'am.

WAVE 3 obtained three pictures that were taken anonymously, showing Wilder asleep inside the can.

It's not clear if the neighbor knew the person inside was Wilder.

Jeffersonville Police Chief Tim Deeringer tells us police get calls all the time for people drinking and every call doesn't always lead to an arrest. He says it is a tool officers are taught to use at their discretion, even in situations like Wilder's case.

"When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with that person and he was identified as Larry Wilder," Deeringer said. "He wasn't belligerent, he wasn't out of control. Mr. Wilder was asked if he could walk to his home. He said he could and he was turned over to two adult children at the house."

The news is still sinking in throughout the community, including the city council, where members say he's good at his job.

But Jeffersonville City Council President Connie Sellers says "it is very embarrassing when you say you find the city attorney in a garbage can. I can't set my morals to his - I mean he is an excellent attorney - what he does in his personal life ... it's his personal life."

"Sometimes smart people do things you wouldn't expect them to do," said City of Jeffersonville Spokesperson Larry Thomas."You've got a smart guy who made a bad decision."

We called Wilder to get his side of the story, but he didn't call us back before this story ran.

Police tell us no charges are expected to be filed although Sellers says the City Council could meet to discuss this issue shortly.

I don't know where this whole thing is headed but if they are moving goal posts and providing contradictory stories as you say then that's good by me.

It is really clear Powell didn't retain an attorney before this book was written. It is also clear Cady didn't advise her to retain an attorney and probably didn't know that the minors reference could be a felony. They both were in such a hurry to release this book it may have ended ruining several lives including their own. There are so many legal issues in this book Cady should have done his homework before releasing.

An attorney probably would have advised to not write the book. At the time they weren't thinking from a legal perspective which is just unbelievable in today's world.

Considering that Cady said in one of his interviews that he did not obtain liability insurance, he's either broke or has no money/assets of any value within the United State's judicial jurisdiction for seizure and forfeit.

Mauer definitely did not think it through by his actions on the formation of the LLC.

I could not imagine a liability insurance policy covering this without comprehensive vetting process with at least one legal opinion of the validity.

Caught in a lie. Just a matter of time before the whole tale unravels. Hope she's ready to go to JAIL for libel. I doubt the afterlife is any better to her:
Matthew 12:36 "I tell you, on the day of judgement people will give account for every careless word they speak"
Leviticus 19:29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity."

If Wilder's her attorney, that's good for us...

Interesting comment Zip.
Are you familiar with this guy or just commenting based on the story about him I. The garbage can?
Just curious what you may know of him and why you think it's good for us.
Thanks
Go Cards!

Powell says in the book that her daughters were 15, 17 and 19 when they began working for her, eventually as prostitutes and escorts in some of the 22 parties she says basketball staffer Andre McGee paid for over four years.

Means they were underage when they started working for her, not necessarily at the time that they performed the actions alleged in the book. Could also mean that they worked for her in some capacity until they turned 18. It doesn't mean that they were underage when this took place.

Listing those ages has great shock value, and I could not find a legit news story that claimed the girls were under age at the time. I only found that claim made by UK fans.

I also refuse to purchase or read the book. No way in hell those clowns are getting any of my money.

I'm just glad to see that's the quality of her representation. Picture a circus ringleader...that's Wilder.

Not to mention, he's well practiced in a small town (Jeffersonville, IN) moving up to the big leagues. Hard to envision Jefferson County judges putting up with his theatrics, if this thing ever gets that far...

That's lawyers for you. How did that incident not go up before the bar? Doesn't he have some kind of standard to uphold? Geez!

Someone told me he went to IUS. Anyone know if that is true? If so, I see potential for another name going up on a building. The most important dumpster on the campus at the very least. :D
